Car to be at auction 1/15

1952 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe
Without Reserve
Chassis no. 679407
Engine no. W 4317-8
Body no. J 1411
Recent frame-up restoration; only test mileage since
Tastefully upgraded for reliable road and rally use
Includes set of tools and owner's manual
This Jaguar has recently undergone a meticulous two-and-a-half-year professional frame-up restoration. No detail has been ignored or overlooked, beginning with its near-flawless British Racing Green exterior. The chassis was stripped down to bare metal, and countless hours were spent detailing the suspension and engine components. The engine bay shines brightly with highly polished chrome and a new stainless steel exhaust system. All exterior chrome is either new or beautifully refinished. Finally, the interior has been fitted with a new and correct biscuit Connelly leather interior and proper Wilton carpets. The burled walnut dash is equally impressive and surely second to none.
This stunning XK120 retains all the details of a classic Jaguar, yet it has been upgraded with the appropriate modifications to make it safe and reliable for rallying and the demands of modern-day driving. It has been fitted with a Guy Broad pedal box, as well as a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and Wilwood front disc and rear drum brakes, for comfortable touring. Its Vredestein radial tires are fitted on new chrome wire wheels; an alloy radiator has been added for enhanced cooling; and new wiring, brake lines, and pads have been installed to ensure safe and care-free driving. The engine has been completely gone over and is equipped with a two-inch stainless steel polished exhaust, for extra performance. In addition, the fuel tank has been flushed, and the car has been comprehensively detailed in preparation for its new owner. Since completion, the car has only been driven test mileage to assure proper operation.
Included with the sale of the car is a full set of tools and an owner's manual. For the purist, the original porcelain exhaust manifolds are also included. A Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate verifies that the car still retains its original body and engine block from when it was first delivered.

Sellers description:
Same description and photos as 1/15 auction with the following added:
Essentially there are none better and few equals in terms of quality of restoration and drivability. This is jewelry quality restorarion that would enhance any collection or if to be driven would be a realiable and sorted out rally participant. Price asking would not even cover the cost of this caliber of restoration.

This 1952 Jaguar XK120 fixed head coupe was acquired by the seller in 2012 and subsequently underwent a refurbishment that was completed in 2015. The car is finished in British Racing Green over tan Connolly leather upholstery, and power comes from a 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Additional features include Wilwood front disc brakes, an aluminum radiator, a stainless steel exhaust system, a Guy Broad adjustable pedal box, and chrome knock-off wire wheels with Vredestein radial tires. This XK120 FHC is now offered with factory books, tools, a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, a spare set of exhaust headers, and an Arizona title in the name of the seller’s LLC listing the car as a 1954 model.
Delivered from the factory in Birch Grey, the car received bodywork before a repaint in its current British Racing Green. Features include chrome rear bumperettes, a split windshield, fender-mounted side mirrors, and chrome front bumpers.
The chrome wire wheels were reportedly added during the refurbishment and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic radial tires. A matching spare wheel is mounted under the trunk floor. The suspension is said to have been overhauled during the refurbishment, and stopping is handled by Wilwood front disc brakes and rear drums.
The cabin features a split bench that was reupholstered in tan Connolly leather during the refurbishment. Brown carpets line the floor, and burl wood accents the dashboard, door caps, and window trim. A Guy Broad adjustable pedal box is fitted.
The four-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a reverse-sweep tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, engine temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows under 2k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4L twin-cam inline-six is said to have been rebuilt during the refurbishment and features a replacement cylinder head and twin SU carburetors. An aluminum radiator is fitted.
Block stamping W4317–8 matches the chassis tag and Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. Cylinder head stamping is W9286–8.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. A stainless steel exhaust system and headers are fitted.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate lists factory colors and identification numbers as well as a manufacture date of February 22, 1952. Factory books, tools, and a spare set of exhaust headers are included in the sale.
