Ebay item 6/30/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-120-Coupe-1952-Jaguar-XK120-FHC-Beautiful-Rest ...
Current bid $26,600 reserve not met 2 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1952 Jaguar XK120 FHC
Chassis No. 679632
Engine No. W4759-8
Body No. J1636

Recently acquired from a long term ownership, this example is one of the nicest Fixed Head Coupes around. The Previous owner purchased the XK in 1989 from a gentleman who had stored it in his garage, un-driven, for several years. The XK once again sat covered in a garage untouched for 20 years. It wasn’t until the two years ago when the owner started a full nut-and-bolt restoration of the XK.

The restoration began with a full disassembly of the car. The chassis was stripped, sandblasted, and repainted to a deep black gloss finish. The entire body was then chemically dipped in an acid bath to remove all traces of rust, debris, and old paint; and repainted back to white. All wiring and hoses have been replaced with new factory correct looms. The engine and gearbox were rebuilt and refinished back to factory specifications. The entire interior has been restored as well; including: new leather seats and door panels, carpeting, headliner, chrome, steering wheel, restored gauges, and the beautifully refinished burl wood trim! The final assembly of the XK was completed by the world famous Jaguar restoration experts, Jeff’s Resurrections in Texas. Over $10,000.00 was spent to bring this beauty back to road worthy condition!

* A beautiful XK120 FHC in excellent colors!
* Very presentable as a driver or show car!
* Recent major service with over $10,000.00 in invoices!
* Includes original service manual, and all restoration receipts!

Auction description:
1952 Jaguar XK120 Fixed-Head Coupé
2012 The Houston Classic Auction
ESTIMATE: $125,000 - $150,000
CHASSIS NO: 679632
From the First Full Year of Fixed-Head Coupé Production Beautifully Finished and Appointed Inside and Out Mechanically Fully-Sorted Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate

Engine No: W4759-8
Gearbox No: JL10613
Body No: J1636

Finished in Old English White over a red Connolly leather interior, the early-production, Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate documented 1952 Jaguar XK120 Fixed-Head Coupe offered here was acquired out of long-term ownership by the current vendor. Prior to his acquisition, the car's last owner purchased it in 1989 from a gentleman who had stored it in his garage, unused, for several years, and it then sat covered in yet another garage, similarly untouched, for a further two decades. Within the last two years, this fine survivor-quality specimen received a comprehensive bare metal restoration that was lovingly undertaken by Jaguar marque specialists. In the course of restoration, the mechanicals were not untouched, as both the car's 3.4 litre engine and four-speed manual gear box were comprehensively rebuilt, the entire wiring loom replaced and the instruments were restored and refinished as needed. Additionally, the car's sumptuously-appointed interior was completely redone, to include the leather seats, headliner, wood instrument panel, carpets, brightwork, upholstered door panel cards, and steering wheel. On the outside, painted wire wheels with correct Dunlop RS tires add to the sporting character of this special car.

In short, it needs absolutely nothing to be enjoyed. Hence, this superb testament to British motoring is ready for years and thousands of miles of carefree motoring and display.

1952 Jaguar XK120 Fixed-Head Coupe
Chassis no. 679632
Engine no. W4759-8
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate that accompanies the car confirms this XK120 was completed on April 21, 1952 and was dispatched to Charles Hornburg, the Los Angeles distributor, on June 7 that same year. The original color scheme was Birch Grey with red upholstery and it was equipped with the 3.4-liter version of Jaguar's legendary XK motor - the numbers match with the engine currently fitted to the car. The vendor reports that this very nice example had previously been dry stored for around 20 years before being sold to the previous long-term owner in 1989.

More recently the car has been subject to a two-year, bare metal restoration by Jaguar specialists, with the engine and gearbox rebuilt, the wiring loom replaced, the instruments either refurbished or replaced and the upholstery re-trimmed with new leather seats, headliner, carpets, door panels and steering wheel fitted. The interior presents in beautiful condition, with lovely timberwork to the dash. The car sits on painted wire wheels with matching Dunlop RS tires.
Estimate:
US$ 140,000 - 160,000
£89,000 - 100,000

Original 3.4L Straight-Six

4-Speed Manual Gearbox

Left-Hand Drive

Old English White

Red Leather Interior

Refurbished After 2009

Private Party or Dealer: Dealer

This 1952 Jaguar XK120 fixed head coupe is a left-hand drive example which is said to have been stored from the 1980s until the previous owner’s purchase in 2009. A refurbishment in Old English White over a new red leather interior was reportedly carried out in the following decade. Power comes from the original 3.4L straight-six mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox, both of which are said to have been rebuilt during the work. This XK120 is offered by the selling dealer in Bremerton, Washington with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Hawaii title.

Originally Birch Grey, the exterior was refinished in Old English White paint during the refurbishment. The finish was reportedly wet sanded and buffed following application. Brightwork includes front and rear bumperettes as well as fender-mounted sideview mirrors, and is said to have been replated.

The interior was reportedly reupholstered with red Connolly leather on the seats and door panels. A stock 4-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a telescopically-adjusting column. The headliner is said to be a replacement, and the interior brightwork was refinished or renewed along with the rubber door seals.

The wood-faced dash houses Smiths instruments including a 140 mph speedometer and reverse-sweep tachometer along with a combination gauge showing water temperature and oil pressure. Approximately 31,300 miles are shown on the odometer, with total mileage unknown.

The original 3.4L straight-six features an aluminum cylinder head and was originally rated at 160 horsepower. The seller states that the engine has been rebuilt along with the 4-speed manual gearbox. Induction is from twin sidedraft SU carburetors, and a stainless steel exhaust system is fitted. A new clutch kit, wiring loom, and battery were reportedly fitted during the rebuild.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the original colors and drivetrain numbers. Engine #W4759-8 matches both the chassis plate and the stamping on the engine block.
