This 1952 Jaguar XK120 is a Fixed Head Coupe that was reportedly sold new in Casablanca and ended up engineless at a Moroccan scrapyard. A US airman stationed in Morocco is said to have purchased the car in the late 1950s and installed a Ford V8 and automatic transmission. He reportedly drove it overseas for years and eventually shipped it to his home in North Carolina sometime in the mid 1960s. The car was taken off of the road in 1974 and parked in a barn until a friend of the seller’s purchased it from the airman’s widow. The seller acquired this XK120 eight years ago and subsequently performed a refurbishment with the assistance of Kanupp’s Vintage Motorworks. Work included installing a 3.4-liter inline-six and 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive from a donor XK150S, and other upgrades include front disc brakes, a TIG-welded radiator, and an electric cooling fan. Approximately 10k miles have been added since the work was completed four years ago. This XK120 is reportedly mentioned in The Jaguar XK120 in the Southern Hemisphere by John Elmgreen and Terry McGrath, and it is now being offered with a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.
Kanupp’s Vintage Motorworks of Siler City, North Carolina managed the metal repair, bodywork, and paintwork undertaken during the refurbishment. Indigo Blue, an XK150 color, was chosen by the seller, and a Monza-style fuel cap has been installed where the stock filler typically resides. The passenger-side turn indicator is inoperable, and the factory color configuration was reportedly Battleship Grey over red leather.
Ace-style wheel discs have been painted to match the body, and a set of Firestone whitewall tires are currently installed. The front brakes have been converted to Dunlop discs, and the system is plumbed with braided stainless hoses. GAZ adjustable shocks are fitted at each corner.
The seats are trimmed in red leather and complemented by matching door panels and carpets. A tear is noted on the passenger’s backrest, and the interior courtesy light is currently inoperable. Closeups of the shifter, door caps, and headliner are provided in the gallery below.
A burl walnut dash was sourced from an XK150 donor and houses a set of Smiths gauges. A modern Tilton floor-mount pedal box has been added. 75k miles are shown on 5-digit the odometer, and total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six (#VS-1031) was sourced from a donor XK150S along with the 4-speed gearbox and overdrive. The engine and driveline were refreshed before being installed along with a triple SU induction system, porcelain-coated headers, and stainless steel exhaust. Cooling is managed by a TIG-welded aluminum radiator with an electric fan.

This 1952 Jaguar XK120 is a left-hand-drive Fixed Head Coupe that was reportedly sold new in Morocco and imported to the United States in the 1960s. A refurbishment was carried out by its previous owner from 2013-2014 following a long-term period of storage, and the car was subsequently acquired by the seller after being featured in an August 2019 BaT auction. It is finished in Indigo Blue over red leather and powered by a replacement 3.4-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additional equipment includes triple SU carburetors, body-colored 16″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, an aluminum radiator, and an electric cooling fan. This XK120 is now offered with a factory jack, refurbishment receipts, service records, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.
The body was repainted in Indigo Blue during the refurbishment and was reportedly refinished again during current ownership following a dent repair on the left front fender. Equipment includes fender-mounted side mirrors, a split windshield, chrome bumperettes, and a Monza-style fuel filler cap. The seller notes that the seals around some of the windows are detaching.
Ace-style 16″ steel wheels with knock-off spinners wear a body-colored finish and are wrapped in whitewall Firestone tires. Dunlop front disc brakes with stainless steel lines have been retrofitted, and GAZ adjustable shocks are fitted at all four corners. A full-size spare with a Firestone tire is housed beneath the trunk floor along with a factory jack.
The cabin is upholstered in red leather with matching door panels and carpets. A Tilton pedal box has been added, and the replacement burl walnut dashboard houses gauges, wiper and lighting controls, a choke, and a locking glovebox.
Smiths instrumentation includes a 140-mph speedometer and a reverse-sweep tachometer with a 5,500-rpm redline, as well as gauges for oil pressure, engine temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 76k miles, approximately 200 of which have been added by the seller. The turn signals and horn are said to be disconnected, and true mileage is unknown.
The replacement 3.4-liter inline-six was reportedly sourced from an XK150S and rebuilt during the refurbishment. Induction is handled by triple SU HD8 carburetors, and additional equipment includes ceramic-coated headers, a stainless steel exhaust, and an aluminum radiator with an electric fan. An oil change and chassis lube were reportedly completed in August 2019. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
