Ebay item 7/14/20
www.ebay.com/itm/311011627405
Opening bid $500. Auction was removed early due to an error in the auction.

Sellers description:
This 1953 Jag has been in the same family for over 30 years and as you can see, will need a total restoration. The good news about this project is she is 98% all there. She is solid with only very minor rust. The body itself is very solid with the rust only in small places near the front end of the rocker panels. The rear trunk area is solid though. The car has spent most of its life in the NorthWest and has avoided Salt, so this is a good project that will not require a bunch of nasty metal fabrication.

SHE DOES RUN! The original in line 6 motor has never been out of the car and though she has been in project status for a couple decades, she has been driven a little here and there. The gas tank has been taken out to be cleaned but you can hook her up to a gas can and hear her "purr". She will need a full tune up of course and some run time but mechanically she will go. The 4 speed is there and does go through the gears which is a good as you know. The brakes will need to be gone through. The rear end has been rebuilt with just around 30 miles. The knock offs are in good shape but the wire spoke rims will need a sand blasting. The tires have less then 100 miles on them but are older but have no cracks and hold air.

The interior is original and will need some love but the seats are still in good shape and is all there. The original wood dash insert has been replaced with one that is the right shape but wrong material. Everything else is there.

All and all this is a sound project for someone with the know how. You will spend some money to get her right but you can find one you can spend alot more on one with major rust issues.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
