Ebay item 11/2/10
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-XK-XK120-JAGUAR-XK120-FHC-RALLY-CAR-SUPERB-HISTOR ...
Current bid $50,100 reserve not met, 9 bids 3 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1953 Rally Prepared Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe, which has only come to the market due to its previous owners advancing years. The car is left hand drive and in the UK, it was imported from Kansas USA in 1991, I have all the old shipping notes, duty paid certificates and an old USA Certificate of Title, along with the current UK log book - V5. With just the one UK owner since 1991.
This XK has been fully prepared for rallying and comes with its FIVA Historic Identity Papers. She has had a very successful rallying career here in Europe, piloted by Stan Williams and Tony Davies in events such as the Winter Challenge, Tulip Rally, Icelandic Odyssey, Adriatic Rallye des Iles, Alpine Rallye, Classic Marathon etc, and always getting placed up the front.
Running a 3.8 XK unit prepared by Forward Engineering with a modified manifold on 2 HD8 carbs (original 3.4 engine comes with the car). XK150 disc brakes up front with rack and pinion steering. The cockpit has been extended for extra leg room ( 6ft+ drivers will fit !) and the chassis has been strengthened and suspension uprated to withstand rough roads. Long range alloy fuel tank fitted, louvered bonnet, oil cooler, electric cooling fan, quick release inner wings for easy access, purpose built stainless twin pipe exhaust system thats tucked up high, not too loud, thats important when you've been in the car for hours. Comes with 2 sets of wheels, 5 x std 16" wires with Firestone tyres and 5 x D-Type 15" alloy knock ons with Vedesstein snow tyres. Too much to list here.
The pix of the car rallying were taken in 2001 when she was black and righthand drive. She was put back to left hand drive in 2004/6 during the restoration as most of serious events are overseas, France, Italy etc.
This is a matching numbers car with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, showing the car was delivered to it original USA dealer Charles Hornburg on 17th April 1953.
The car was totally rebuilt in 2004/5/6 with a full photographic record, and today is in superb order throughout having been maintained to the highest possible standards
This is a superb driving fast road rally car, ready to go anywhere. If thinking serious Jaguar this has to be the tool, and remember they don't sell these in haven.
This is a trade sale by Hunter Classics.

Seller's description:
Classix by Schiebler, Sweden
Exterior: This pastel blue Jaguar XK120 has been expertly prepared for rallies such as the Mille Miglia, Arlberg Classic, Ennstal Classic, Silvretta Classic, The Tulip Rally, and many others. To save weight and give the car a cleaner appearance, the bumpers have been removed. Slightly wider rims have been fitted with Michelin Pilot X tires, not only enhancing the car's aesthetic appeal but also improving its handling, even at high speeds. In the trunk, you'll find a 120L aluminum fuel tank, making a trunk rack essential for storing your suitcase. Additional headlights at the front ensure better visibility on winding alpine roads. A proper leather strap secures the flared hood, and two well-positioned side-view mirrors on the doors provide extra safety. While it’s unlikely many cars will catch up with you, the mirrors are there just in case.
Interior: If you're around 175 cm (5'9") or taller, you might find it challenging to fit into a standard Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe. However, this car features special bucket seats, offering extra legroom and headroom, making it much more comfortable for taller drivers. These seats are also great for long journeys. Hooks are in place for proper seat belts. The interior features a beautiful wood dashboard with fully functional Smiths instruments and a Moto-Lita wooden steering wheel that is adjustable in height. The car also has a unique pedal configuration, with the gas pedal connected by a cable rather than a linkage, giving you a more connected driving experience. The slightly bulkier gearbox tunnel accommodates the overdrive.
Engine and Mechanics: The engine underwent a complete rebuild in 2016, tuned by Sigma Engineering in the UK, and it is by far the strongest and fastest Jaguar XK120 I’ve ever driven. Despite its power, it remains easy to drive with excellent torque. Combined with the overdrive gearbox, this car is perfect for rallies or Grand Touring. The extensive work on the car was carried out by Classic Motor Cars Limited in the UK and Twyford Moors XK Specialists. Major upgrades include:
• Fully rebuilt Moss gearbox and overdrive unit
• Complete engine rebuild by Sigma Engineering, including pistons, bearings, etc.
• Koni Classic front dampers
• New clutch and brake master cylinders
• Entirely new wiring loom
• Full brake overhaul
• All front and rear bushings replaced
History: This exceptional Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe was first sold in the USA in April 1953. In 1991, it was brought to the UK, where it came into the possession of Mr. Williams. The car received its FIVA pass in 1999 and again in 2007. The current owner purchased the car in 2015, after which a major restoration was undertaken by Classic Motor Cars Limited, completed in 2018. It was then registered in Sweden and now has Swedish documents, meaning it can be traded within the EU without any additional taxes. The documentation for the car dates back to its time in the USA, and all invoices for the restoration work done between 2016 and 2018 are included.
