This LHD car is an example not only gorgeous but actually in concours condition of the most elegant "Coupé" among the classic Jaguar XK series. Only built at 2477 examples, these classics are becoming increasingly hard to find, more particularly in such a concours condition. This rare and pristine matching numbers example was built on December 21,1953, and dispatched on January 4,1954. It has undergone a complete body off, nut and bolt concours quality restoration to the utmost specification of the original car, completed in 2005. No expanse was spared, with total restoration costs upper than 90 000 Euros, plus the price of the car. Body was sand-blasted to bare metal. It was refinished with numerous coats of black cellulose paint, associated with a brand new interior : new burgundy Connolly leather with black piping, new polished burlwood dash, new black carpets, new light grey headliner. All chromes are new or replated.Steel disc wheels are featured with chrome plated and matching black painted hubcaps; rear wheels are covered with spats; wires are new. Front and rear suspensions, brakes, wiring harness, clutch, etc...have been redone as original. A full gearbox/engine (unleaded head with larger valves) detail has been completed, showing excellent compression and oil pressure. It nicely sounds through a stainless double pipe exhaust system. This car is truly one of the finest examples to be found worldwide,and runs and drives as well as it looks. It has covered less than 1500 miles since its complete restoration and can be driven anywhere.

Our XK120 was sold new on January 4th 1954 in Los Angeles, California. Restored in the USA ten years ago by its French owner at a cost of more than $100 000, it is simply drop-dead gorgeous. Originality was the brief of this project, no traces of a Philips head in the wood trimmings of the doorcards here and the air filter is still located behind the slatted grille, a rare feature nowadays! Repatriated in 2005, it remains in fantastic condition to this day, with a very deep varnish and blemish-free chrome throughout. The same goes for the interior, with gorgeous burgundy unmarked hide and perfect wood all around. The engine springs to life without trouble and shows enviable health thanks to a regular use by a very meticulous owner. One of the nicest post-war designs of British production, the XK120 FHC hints in many ways at such concours queens as the Bugatti 57 Atalante, teardrop Talbots with a splash of Touring BMW 328's sides. This example is in faultless condition and will ravish those in search of a unmolested XK120.
