I'm near Paris (France). I had a few classic cars from a 69 VW to a Jaguar XJ6 series 3, and some more... At the time I've got an XK120 FHC and two series 1 E-Type. The RHD one was to have a ground up restoration, but I'm forced to sell her because another S1 is there. The S1 XJ6 is supposed to be my everyday car. If you're on a trip in France and are stalled you can contact me. I know a fine shop near my place. (email)Updated April 5th, 2009. Not legal proof of ownership. |

This car was dispatched new in Paris, France. Its first owner was a famous ball-point pen tycoon. It spent most of its life in France. In UK for the last 10 years it should go back to its "homeland" soon.

This LHD Fixed Head Coupé was initially delivered in France to the "Societe Bic" the ball pen maker. Actually the driver was Baron Bich himself. It belonged then successively to Pierre Bardinon french private driver and owner of the Circuit du Mas du Clos, Ph Renault founder and Presdent of the French Jaguar Drivers' Club... It was displayed in a museum in Italy and in another one in France before being exported to UK in the early 90s and owned till today (september 10th 06) by mr. David Acott.

An "excellent original" car that does not have its original color, non-original interior, later C-type head etc. Did this car even come with wire wheels as delivered?
It is certainly a very nice car and looks to have been tastefully modified over the years, but I would hesitiate to call it "original".

This comment is very accurate. It's not a quite"original" car, it's still excellent :-).
Regarding the wheels, they've been epoxyed recently, they were previously painted body colour (Battleship grey).

It certainly is a beautiful car!

Car to be at auction 3/16
www.osenat.fr/flash/index.jsp
Auction description:
Lot n° 359
1954 JAGUAR XK 120 FHC
Châssis n° 681467
Estimation : 60 000 / 80 000 €
The beautiful XK120 Coupe that we have the pleasure to present has a clear historic and exciting! In fact it was delivered new in May 15, 1954 at the BIC society by Delacroix in Paris, she will likely not used to deliver the tips of pens but led by Baron Bich himself. It then belonged to Philippe Renault, President co-founder of FJDC (French Jaguar Drivers Club), then it belonged to the collection of Pierre Bardinon (Circuit of Mas du Clos). With both owners and the addition of a "C" cylinder head, she ran and still has his FIA passport. She then joined Italy (in a car museum) before returning a few years in England where it was brought to France by a collector and professional. The current owner shall then acquire there a decade during which many maintenance works was carried out. It is presented in good condition and its body is in black paint has a beautiful patina. This is a beautiful coupe, rarer than the Roadster equipped with the famous XK 3.4L and C cylinder head!
