Car was shipped from USA into The Netherlands, following probably the death of the original owner, L.J. Evans.

Car was first registered in Coventry, to the original owner. This was common in particular for servicemen, that used them to tour Europe prior to travelling back to the USA.

The chassis was completely covered with tar when it was imported back. The previous owner's brother, a mechanic, following a heart-stroke and needing a gradual come-back into work, removed the tar, exposing a virtually as-new chassis.

Fuel tank was replaced as it had internal corrosion.

Panels are original, and the car was repainted. Gearbox and engine are original, but the head was substituted by an 8S with the usual H6 carburettors (no sandcast).

Interior has been re-upholstered, but headlining is original.

Steering wheel seems to be a very old Moto-Lita (from before the name was stamped).

At date of writing car is regularly used, often in historic rally's.

In the meantime the car is still with the same owner (me). It has now a period-original steering wheel and manette, with May 1954 production date-stamp, hence period correct.

We have covered roughly 5000Km since purchase, replacing only the original radiator for an aluminium one with an electric auxiliary fan. Original radiator will be reconditioned.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
