Not only is this car one of 73 right hand drive XK140 roadsters built, but it is one of only four delivered to Sydney and one of two known in the world ordered specially for racing with a 9.0:1 compression engine, C Type cylinder head and 2in sandcast carburettors
Detailed restoration described at www.concours.com.au/XK140SE%20resto.html
with a lot of pictures.

Hi, really, really nice to see a correct "Tan" interior for a change! :) Do you happen to know what colour the car was painted in that 1959 B&W photo? It looks far too light to have been the original BRG, but of course the car was already many years old, so very likely repainted in some other colour. Cheers!

Hi John, 800049 isn't quite identical, from the engine number it is an 8.0:1 compression car, 800040 was a 9.0:1 comp car which is particularly rare. There are no engine bay pictures of 800049 so can't tell if it has sandcast 2in carburettors or not. Gavin King. Concours Sportscar Restoration.
