Car to be at auction 8/08
    www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r

    Auction description:
Sale 16250 - A Sale of Jaguar Motor Cars and Related Automobilia, 9 Aug 2008
    XK60, Goodwood, Chichester, Sussex
    Lot No: 220
    1956 Jaguar XK140 Coupé
    Registration no. WDH 673
    Chassis no. 804392
    Engine no. G5038-8
    Estimate: £35,000 - 40,000

Known to the current vendor for the past 25 years, this highly original XK140 Coupé used to reside in its previous owner’s showroom and displays a total of only 58,000-or-so miles on the odometer. The vendor purchased the car in 2003 and immediately treated it to a cosmetic refurbishment that included bodywork, brightwork and interior trim; updating it with power steering, alternator electrics, CD player and radial tyres (on the original rims) at the same time. Looking fabulous, this XK is reported to perform well, easily holding its own in present-day traffic, and in the vendor’s own words ‘has been a dream to own.’ The car is offered with old-style logbook, current MoT/road fund licence and Swansea V5 registration document.

    Auction description:
    8 Sep 2012 3:30 p.m. Beaulieu, National Motor Museum
    Collectors' Motor Cars
    Lot number 605
    1956 Jaguar XK140 Coupé
    Chassis no. S804392
    Engine no. G5038-8
    Estimate: £30,000 - 40,000
    €38,000 - 51,000
    US$ 48,000 - 64,000

One of only 843 right-hand drive XK140 fixed-head coupés made, this highly original example had been known to the immediately preceding owner for 25 years and used to reside in a previous owner's showroom. The preceding owner purchased the car in 2003 and immediately treated it to a cosmetic refurbishment that included bodywork, brightwork and interior trim; updating it with power steering, alternator electrics, a CD player and radial tyres (on the original rims) at the same time. UK registered 'WDH 673', the car displayed a total of only 58,000-or-so miles on the odometer when it was offered for sale at Bonhams' Beaulieu auction in September 2008 (Lot 352). Purchased by the current vendor at that sale and currently registered in Germany, the XK has been kept in a heated garage, covering only some 1,500 miles since acquisition. Finished in British Racing Green with matching leather interior, the car is offered with old-style logbook, sundry invoices and current German tax and roadworthiness certificate (valid until June 2014).
