Sellers description:
VHY 849 is a 3.4 litre original right hand drive ( only 839 cars produced ) matching number car, Engine No. G5461-8, Chassis No. 804474DN and was first registered on 14th October 1955. Paint colour is British Racing Green and as the Heritage Certificate shows this is the original colour The interior is suede green leather. It has a manual close ratio gearbox, with overdrive.

The car was subject to a full body off restoration, from September 1991 through to October 1993, photographs, work sheets & invoices are available. In August 1994 the car was awarded second in the Concours DElegance at the Jaguar Drivers Club National Day at Woburn Abbey. I understand the car was then stored for some years on the death of the owner who had completed the original restoration.

I purchased the car from a dealer, specialising solely in XK models in October 2003 when 4,169 miles were showing on the odometer. Whilst at the aforementioned dealer substantial expenditure was undertaken on the suspension, laser aligned, plus poly bushes, new Vredenstein tyres, etc

The car has the safety benefit of correctly installed( reinforced steel cross bars under the rear parcel shelf ) inertia seat belts and points for a racing harness. The car has an aluminium water expansion tank, Kenlowe electric fan, stainless steel twin exhaust system , chrome luggage rack, wooden steering wheel ( the original comes with the car ), battery cut out switch. The body has been Waxoyled.

I have undertaken the following works :-

04/11/03Quarter light rear view mirrors, two new batteries.
17/04/04Superb new stainless steel tubeless wire wheels fitted.
Front disc brakes fitted, with SS brake hoses.
10/06/04New radiator and heater matrix installed.
Modern radio/ CD fitted, which is very easily removed.
20/09/04Solid state fuel pump & dashboard clock fitted.
24/11/05New up-rated heavy duty anti roll bar, with poly bushes.
New brake master cylinder & aluminium brake fluid reservoir.
New suppressed HT leads and BPF Halogen front head lamp conversion.
New high torque, light weight, starter motor.
Negative earth, fused accessory socket fitted, for satnav etc.
Column light indicator switch and new tachometer installed.
Car checked all over by recognised experts in this model & 10,000 service undertaken.
07/03/06Pair of new rear leaf springs fitted.

All original parts removed from the car are available.

This is a fast, well balanced, reliable car that is driven on a regular ( not in the rain ) basis to ensure everything remains in sound working order.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
