Manufactured Dec. 55 in British Racing Green/Tan. The car was seen in bright red at XKD 72 (30 Sep 1972) at Mallory Park. Returned to BRG by a new owner having purchased it in '79 soon after the Elton John photo shoot. A 14 year restoration followed completed in '96. Seen at various JDC and JEC events afterwards and in '13 at the JDC Tour of Ireland. Last seen June '16 at the Dorset History Centre.

There are many references to the car with Elton John on the web, most prominently on the album artwork of his record ‘A single man’, 1978. It was said by the above purchaser the car was in very poor condition when he bought it, hence the long restoration.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
