We fitted a pair of sandcast su's to this car in 1999 when owned by Doug Young. Gavin King - Concours Sportscar Restoration www.concours.com.au

The sandcast SUs fitted by Gavin were absolute rubbish, with non-concentric dashpot and piston slides, resulting in sticking pistons. The engine rebuild was also rubbish, with the engine expiring within 5,000 miles, due to the piston /bore clearance being too tight. He also billed me for work which it transpired was not done.
The subsequent rebuild by Mike Roddy is still going strong.

Car was bought from Brysons, then sold to a Brysons employee, ten bought by Brysons and used in advertisements. When they lost the dealership due to BL takeover, John Laws, the broadcaster, bought it (late 1970s). He sold it 5 years later to a department store family and I bought it in 1997. I first saw it in 1973 and decided I would like to own it one day.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
