Jaguar XK140 Drop head coupe.
Chassis number 807115
Engine Number G34948
Registration number HON652
A stunning & rare car being one of only a few hundred built.
This car was subject to a nut & bolt restoration just a few years ago. At the time the odometer was set to zero & has since covered just 3400 miles. The car has never once been driven in the rain!!!
The underside of the car is where she is most impressive. Literally every single nut is new!!! A photographic record of the work done comes with the car showing the body & chassis being worked upon separately,
The coachwork is finished in burgundy that polishes up to a deep lustre. It is needless to say in superb order. All bright work was re-chromed so is also near perfect as are the chrome wire wheels. A new Mohair hood is fitted along with a matching hood bag.
The interior is biscuit leather in as new condition with matching biscuit carpets. The Burr walnut is highly figured with beautiful grain & has also been refinished to a mirror polished condition.
The motor was completely rebuilt during the restoration & the head converted to run on unleaded fuel. A 5 speed gear box was fitted along with disc brakes as a nod towards making the car as modern day drivable as possible.
On the road the car is absolutely superb. She starts right up & makes all the right noises. The engine pulls strongly in all gears & to drive her is to give one the feel of how such a car might have been when new. Lowering the roof is simplicity in itself. Just 3 latches need to be released & the roof then folds down in one smooth motion. So much easier then the fiddly nail breaking OTS version!!!
You really need to come & see this car to appreciate just how good it is. It may be viewed by appointment in Somerset.
