Current bid $30,000, no reserve, 79 bids 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1955 Jaguar XK140 OTS Amazing garage find! This car has been in a garage on blocks for over 40 yrs. The fellow I purchased this car obtained it from the nephew of the original female owner 30 plus years ago. The car had been sitting for 10 plus years prior to that. The nephew stated that his Aunt never used the car in the winter. The fuel tank was removed to be cleaned. the project never proceeded from that point forward. The car would still be sitting in that garage had it not been for a fire that damaged most of the building. Resulting in the demolition of the whole garge after the fire. That is why the car became available. The car fortunately had very minor damage as a result of the fire. The right rear fender had 3/4 of the paint burnt off. The right side of the trunk lost paint, and the right side of the upper panel as well. The panels didn't suffer much as a result of this. These areas would straighten out without much effort. The right tailight housing took some heat and discolored. The wire harness has about 2-3 inches of damage at the end, very easy fix. There was a fiberglass hardtop on the car that sustained some damage as well, but is fixable. I included some pics of this area prior to me putting some paint over it to protect the metal. When the fire was put out, plaster from the ceiling fell on to the car resulting in some dents in some areas. This car only has 27k miles. based on the history I got, and the condition this car is in It is believed to be actual. The body has only 1 small rust area in the lower dogleg of the left rear fender. The inner mud shield has some rust as well, but this is such an easy fix. The rest of the body has NO RUST, other than the obvious surface rust that you can see in pics. For a car that lived in Massachusetts it's whole life, this is incredible. I took plugs out and dumped some Marvel Mystrey Oil in the cylinders and rolled the motor over to allow bearings to get oil to them. I cleaned carbs and ran an auxillery fuel pump to get gas to them. When the car fired up I couldn't believe how great it sounded. The M.M.O. burned off very quickly. The engine runs like a watch! It purrs like a kitten and doesn't smoke in the least. Pretty amazing considering how long this car sat. There is no doubt in my mind that the miles indicated are acurate. The paint on the car is original, with the exeption of the driver's door. This car even has the original leather gators on the rear springs. I've never seen these before. The car also has a dual exhaust system which is original. The rear spats are missing and there are no top bows. 1 wheel is missing. I personally would go with wire wheels, as it is a much better look. The black and red color combo is so right for this car as well!

This car is such an easy and straight forward restoration project with virtually no rust. The motor runs like a watch and matches the data plate. I have a clear title for the car. I welcome anyone that wants to come check car out in person.

Car to be at auction 4/13
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 121 - 1954 Jaguar XK 140 Roadster
Estimate: €90,000 - €120,000
Registration Number: EU Taxes Paid
Chassis Number: 810532
This superb XK140 Roadster, considered by most enthusiasts, to be a superior and, of course, much rarer model than its predecessor, the 120, was originally sold to Jaguar dealer's Max Hoffer in New York in January 1955.

Although little is known of this car's early years after much searching, the vendor managed to acquire this vehicle which was in generally sound and original condition, having dismissed many other cars, choosing this rare roadster.
Upon returning to the UK, it was decided to undertake a comprehensive restoration which was enthusiastically embarked upon.
The Jaguar was stripped apart and over the years has had a substantial and extensive restoration including all chrome worked stripped, renewed or replaced, body stripped to bare metal prior to repainting, chassis repainted, the interior of the Jaguar has been completely re-trimmed with new leather seats, carpets, hood and panels. New chrome wheels and tyres have also been fitted along with new wiring loom, dashboard instruments overhauled, battery and exhaust system fitted and renewed side screens and hood bag. The engine has of course also been stripped down and rebuilt to mention only the more major parts with other items attended to, too numerous to mention.

Now beautifully prepared and presented in silver with maroon leather interior, hood and tonneau cover. As an unusual and very attractive extra, this rare roadster also has an accompanying hard top, a highly desirable option and ideal for winter use.
Accompanying paperwork includes Jaguar Heritage certificate, original US title, and detailed paperwork of the extensive restoration undertaken.
