Ebay item 4/7/14 www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK-140-OTS-1955-Burgundy-Complete-Restore-Orig-Drive-Tra ...
Current bid $17,754 reserve not met 17 bids 6 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
*** THIS CAR IS PHYSICALLY LOCATED IN LYON (CHICAGO), IL ***
Seller located in North Andover, Massachusetts.
This is a 1955 Jaguar XK140 Open Two Seater (OTS) that has been completely restored and has hardly been driven since completion. The car is finished in a rich Burgundy with a very nice and complementary Black leather interior and a brand new Black convertible top with removable canvas and plastic side curtains . Overall, this is a beautiful car that runs and drives exceptionally well.
This 1955 Jaguar XK140 OTS has the original drive train (numbers matching) 3.4 liter six cylinder engine coupled to the original 4 speed gearbox. This car is also equipped with standard disc wheels and spats (fender skirts) over the rear wheel opening.
This is a wonderful return to the 1950's when British sports cars were the envy of the world. This specific example is in outstanding condition and could be driven everyday if desired and if in the right climate. The engine has plenty of power and has great oil pressure, the gear box is smooth and overall, it is just a joy to drive.
From 1954 until 1957, 3,350 of the roadster were built with all but 49 bound for export; this particular car was delivered to Max Hoffmann, the Jaguar disributor in New York.

Low, Curved and Exciting, the bodywork of the XK Series created a sensation when announced in 1948. The engine - a six cylinder - rivaled the big American V8's of the time. Jaguar was center stage at the Winners Circle taking several Le Mans victories. From 1954 until 1957, 3,350 of the roadster were built with all but 49 bound for export; this particular car was delivered to Max Hoffmann, the Jaguar disributor in New York.
