The Hemmings advert shows a picture of the data plate with engine number G2094-8. This engine number is also shown on XK Data under A810968 which was recorded from the Bonhams auction; I think this must be a mis-read by Bonhams of the chassis number or engine number.

Seller's description from above offering:
Location: Norwalk, Connecticut, 06850
Transmission: Manual
Condition: Excellent
Exterior: Green
Interior: Tan
This gorgeous 1955 Jaguar XK140 Roadster is finished in British Racing Green with biscuit Connolly leather. The owner has made a few extremely desirable upgrades markedly improving the driving experience: it has a modern, fully synchromesh 5-speed gearbox (the original Moss 4-speed comes with the car), it has an oversized aluminum radiator for vastly improved cooling (the original radiator comes with the car), and it has been fitted with the venerable C Type head, increasing horsepower from 180 to 210.
Cosmetic condition is superb throughout: panel fit is excellent, paint quality shows to a very high level; best of all, the driving experience is exactly what Jaguar had in mind when they built the 140: impressive power and great handling with sensual style.
Copious service records accompany the car showing careful and meticulous service by a highly regarded Jaguar specialist shop. We invite your close inspection, better yet, come have a road test… it is sure to win you over.
Price: $120,000

This immaculately presented example was restored between 1999 and 2002 at the behest of its former St. Louis, MO based owner. Starting with a matched numbers Special Equipment model 140, as designated by the 'A' prefix to its VIN, the car was rebuilt from the ground up. This work is charted through a series of photos and a comprehensive set of invoices for parts from well-known suppliers such as XK's Unlimited, and labor by Le Stable, with totals in excess of $60,000. The photos show the car stripped down to its chassis, the drive train and bodywork being refurbished and then all carefully re-assembled to make for a beautiful result. To aid cooling, a larger aluminum radiator was fitted as well as an electric fan. It was subsequently purchased by the current owner through local St. Louis dealer Mark Hyman. In the present ownership the car has been enjoyed for the last couple of years, including exhibition at the Fairfield County Concours in 2008 and Greenwich Concours last year. During this time it has had maintenance completed by Blackhorse Garage of Bridgeport, CT, for which there are bills for nearly $6,000 and it will have been freshly detailed by this company prior to its sale. As recently viewed by a Bonhams specialist, the car is in fine order with good paint, chrome and the interior remains unmarked. It is complete with top and side curtains, and a tonneau cover as well as a full set of Jaguar tools. Of additional benefit to the car's performance is the fact that at some point in its life, prior to its rebuild the car has received the oft times factory supplied addition of the C-Type cylinder head, a feature which originally enhanced these cars to 210bhp. Offered from a private collection, the car is ready to show or tour.
