Current bid $2,358 reserve not met, 10 bids, 6 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
Here is a 1956 Jaguar XK 140 Roadster Restoration Project with particular VIN # 812327 DN ,this indicates left hand drive with overdrive gearbox. According to records this vehicle was manufactured in March 1956.This XK was recently found in the Atlanta Georgia area after an abandoned restoration was attempeted some 30 years ago.The prior owner removed and disassembled the motor, removed the paint, hood, doors and trunk lid and interior and moved the car under a covered deck at his home. We obtained this car recently and partialy reassembled it and Primed the body to get an Idea of its potential for restoration. The Chassis is in Good condition with NO RUST OUT or structural damage but has light surface rust. This was a Disc Wheel Car but we do not have the original Wheels or Spats. The Rear end appears correct and turns freely. The Front Suspension and steering is in place. The Brakes have been removed but are included in the Sale. The Body is a mixed bag.The Front fenders have rust damage on the bottoms and to the front of the car as well as heavy surface rust to the top surfaces. The Rear fenders and body are in better repairable condition. The Inner Sills are gone as well as the floorboards but the A and B posts are somewhat intact and the doors open and close. The Dash areas as well as the Firewall and Trunk areas are intact but are surface rusted. We found the Windshield,Grill and Hood Chrome trim but are missing the Bumpers and overriders as well as rear chrome trim. We do have the Bumper Brackets. We have the Original Seats, Side Curtains, Guages Steering Wheel, but missing the Convertable Top Frame. The Engine was Reassembled to account for all components and appears complete except the Air Cleaner. The Motor Number G-7533-8 is a correct XK 140 motor but we could not find the original VIN plate to confirm it is the correct motor. The Vin # indicated a DN Suffix which reflects OVERDRIVE Unit but the Gearbox is a normal four speed unit with a JL prefix. As stated before this vehicle requires a total restoration and as such is being sold in AS IS. We encourage all bidders to inspect prior to the close of the auction. Sold With a Clear Title

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
