Prior owner, Gary Seraphinoff is looking for any info on this car. His request appears in the February edition of the XK Gazette. Originally sold in France, imported to the UK then to the US.

The title that was transferred to me in 1968 said that the chassis number was 817181. However, based on the rare color combination (only two XK-140 DHC's were ordered with Black and Suede Green) and the KPH speedometer, it was deduced by the Australian XK historian John Elmgreen that it was actually chassis number 817131. Please help me find this car if you may know of its whereabouts. It was my first car at the tender age of 15 and it has a near mythical standing with my family!

I am still on the hunt for "my" old Jaguar and would love some information!

I wanted to mention that the photo of the registration shows a different car. Thats because the title on my car was wrong and the number on the registration reflected that. Because it had certain rare features (as an example Black with a Suede Green interior) the historian John Elmgreen figured out what the actual chassis number was. Thats why the XK140 with overdrive in Europe is on that registration number as noticed by John Ingram.

The car was sold and went to a buyer in Germany. When "pauls" wrote that it was on the Beverly Hills Car Club site, I contacted them right away. I wanted to buy back my "first car" that I had gotten when I was fifteen in 1967. I had to sell two XK120's first before I could buy it back. I had to let it go and am rather heartbroken because it sold before my cars were sold.. I contacted the seller at Beverly Hills Car Club just now and asked if they would put me in touch with the new owner in Germany. I doubt if they will bother to do that. How sad. When I was going to buy it they were very helpful in any way possible but now I feel they just wanted me to go away.... NEW OWNER: CAN YOU PLEASE CONTACT ME? I HAVE ALL THE HISTORY ON THE CAR AND MANY OLD PHOTOS I CAN EMAIL YOU. ALSO, I WOULD LOVE TO GET MY AAA BADGE BACK THAT IS ON THE GRILLE AND MY RACE DAY STICKER ON THE DASH. THIS IS PUSHING IT, BUT I WOULD LOVE TO HAVE MY OLD WALNUT SHIFT KNOW I GOT WHEN I WAS 16 YEARS OLD IN 1968!! Thanks Much, Gary

I just saw the response that Helmut, the restorer of the car in Germany, left shortly after I left a request that I have returned to me a few bits that I "customized" the car with in 1968. It's a year later now and I hope he gets the email I just sent through his shop's website email. If I do get those little parts back, I will be putting them on my 1955 XK140 SE DHC w/ C-Type head. Since I missed out on this, my actual "first car", I just had to re-live my youth somehow. Is my new car a better car? Yes, its a never rusted or dinged California car that has sat for 50 years (like this one!) Same early year, 1955, better shape by far and although this one here is an SE model also it did not have the C-Type head like the one I have now. Am I happier? I am happy and at least I will know and see "my" car when its done...
