The vehicle is XK150 although there are parts that cross over from the 140 as was the waywith the jaguar parts bin I understand.

Interesting/worrying will investigate further, Will double check engine numbers/chassis numbers. Also have original supplying dealers letter confirming sale of vehicle in '57 and export docs from when it was exported to the USA. The body is definately a 150 though. Have photos of car before full chassis of restoration with photo record 10 years ago. Engine was rebuilt, gearbox & diff inspected checked for tolerance etc.

It would help if I have checked my Typing before sending details, apologies for the inconvenience : the correst chassis number should be S824060DN engine number V1761-8. gearbox JLS 38333 CR. Body number J7581. date of manufacture 20.09.1957
have not uncover ed car from winter (salty road) slumber these are the records that I have in paperwork etc. apart from physical check of chassis number from build plate I haven't verifyied other numbers but beleive them to be correct. Will check in forthcoming weeks.

Ist Supplying Dealer Sturgess of Leicester, UK. sold in 1957 to a customer Mr J. Sl------- of Market Harborough. Car shiped to USA state of Arizona in 1974/5 for a Mr. R. A. So---------. Returned to UK 1988. Registered miles since (photographed) restoration 7,000 miles.
3,000 of which covered by myself this year, including a 1300 mile trip touring the the Loire Valley in France car ran faultlesly. Never overheats standard rad set up (no kenlow or header tank) have changed to manual choke i.e. electric switch from the original automatic system. Have improved ride and handling resetting suspension and fitting Avon radials. Next job to install a 5 speed box fund permitting, Have letter from Jaguar Cars Ltd dated August 1990 confirming date of manufacture as 20/09/1957 supplying dealer, eng no's etc.
Car serviced and major work carried out by Stuart of Rectory Classics very knowledgable and skilled individual.

1957 Jaguar XK150 Fixedhead Coupe 3.4 Litre M/OD

Estimate: £25,000-30,000
Finished in Sherwood Green with tan leather trim this XK150 was delivered to new to a Mr J Slater of Market Harborough in 1958, having been manufactured on the 20th September 1957. It remained in the UK until June of 1975 after which it was exported the United States by its then owner. Repatriated in 1988 it was the subject of a body off restoration in 1990 / 1991, during which time the engine was rebuilt, gearbox and axle inspected and checked as they did not require attention.

It has been in the current owners possession for 15 months, in which time it has been maintained by Jaguar specialists Rectory Classics. Used regulary the owner states that it is in fine running order having completed a European Tour last year, subsequently fitted with 5 new Avon radial tyres and new rear leaf springs.

Chassis S 824060 was delivered new to the Leicester distributor, Walter E Sturgess and was, according to the Jaguar Heritage Certificate used as their demonstrator.

Legends are pleased to offer this 3.4 litre, matching numbers XK 150 FHC for sale. The car was originally restored (picture documented) in the 1990’s and has been finished in the original colour of Sherwood Green with Tan interior. During the course of the last three years the car has been completely gone through, including the installation of a 5 Speed Guy Broad Gearbox. The file includes many receipts from XK Engineering showing work performed in order to bring this car to its current state of modern usability.
