Auction description:
Lot 111 - 1958 Jaguar XK150 Fixedhead Coupe
Estimate: £30,000 - £40,000
Registration Number: 9004 PE
Chassis Number: 824505BW
Delivered new to Henleys on 7th July 1958 and purchased by renowned International modernist architect Patrick Gwynne on the following day. The car remained in Gwynne's possession until September 1966 where upon it was purchased by John Rudge in Cheshire and remained with him until 1975. It was purchased by a Brian Lowe of Weybridge in April 1975 before making its way only a month later to the current owner.
The vendor informs us that the car is in excellent condition throughout having undergone a ten year restoration that was completed in 2000. All aspects of the car were covered including the chassis frame being shot blasted and then zinc and etched primed. A comprehensive photographic record documents the work carried out which also included a new stainless steel exhaust, Koni shocks, wiring loom, new chrome trim and various other replacement parts.
This fine XK150 coupe is supplied with the original buff logbook, V5 document, MoT certificates dating back to December 1989 including a current item valid until August 2012, Jaguar Heritage certificate, photographic restoration file and various bills and receipts.
Resplendent in the original colour of Cornish Grey with a contrasting blue hide interior, 9004 PE represents a uniquely original XK150 in long term ownership with a rich and well documented history that is perfect for the driver or investor.
