Car returns to ebay 10/5/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1959-XK150-Coupe-BRG-Automatic-Overdrive-Project-progres ...
Current bid $3,483 reserve not met 12 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in North Andover, Massachusetts. Previous auction was removed.
Sellers description:
1959 Jaguar XK150 3.4 Liter numbers matching project car. The car came from California (it is a Black Plate car) and has seen no snow or salt so the body is very solid. The car has anew paint job that has yet to be wet sanded and buffed.
This XK150 has a very rare automatic transmission with over drive and we know that the engine runs well but not at this moment. The previous owner had it running, he also had the rear brakes fixed spending about $1,000 on the rear calipers and master cylinder alone.
The car needs a complete restoration which is already well underway and this car offers a very solid starting point. Do not let the opportunity to own this car pass you by. We have priced this vehicle to provide you the best deal on a car of this caliber.

€28,000 - 31,000
US$ 37,000 - 40,000
A sought after 'Special Equipment' model fitted with the automatic gearbox, this left-hand drive XK150 coupé was imported from the USA in 2012 and is a 'black plate' California car (that is to say, it was sold new in that State). Partly restored when acquired, it has been completed by the vendor and presents well, though the paintwork could be improved with further detailing. A new interior has been fitted including new seats, headlining, door cards and carpets. Driving well, the auto 'box making for relaxed progress, this refined XK150 could be used 'as is' or treated as a solid basis for further improvement. The car is offered with sundry restoration invoices and Swansea V5 document.

Not sold.
Sellers description:
Registration 325YUT
Chassis Number S-834046-BW
Estimate £45,000 - £55,000
This eye-catching Jaguar XK150 SE Coupé has benefitted from substantial time and financial investment recently. Purely for aesthetic reasons, the bumpers have been removed and the exhaust system modified to come out through the rear wings, resulting in a familiar 'throaty' note being emitted from the exhaust. Coupled with lowering the suspension, colour coded wire wheels, aluminium intakes and period painted number plate, this XK150 both looks and sounds fabulous. Fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox, this lefthand drive Jaguar also benefits from having disc brakes all round. Supplied with a V5 registration document and the original bumpers, this 'sporty' example of an iconic sportscar offers the flexibility of safe, comfortable touring with something more exciting for the more enthusiastic driver.

This particular Jaguar was manufactured in 1959. It has been the subject of a full restoration since 2012. This has included much recent works including a full cosmetic and mechanical overhaul with 2015 invoices totalling in excess of £20,000. Whilst the bumpers have been removed from the car, they are included in the sale.
There are many invoices on file detailing these substantial works and this is now surely an opportunity to own a fresh XK150 with all of the hard work completed.
