This 1959 Jaguar XK150 drophead coupe is a running project that was acquired out of long-term storage by the selling dealer around a year and a half ago. The car is finished in white over black upholstery and powered by a replacement 3.4-liter inline-six linked to a Borg Warner four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes wire wheels, Smiths gauges, chrome bumpers with overriders, and twin SU carburetors. This XK150 is now offered in Massachusetts at no reserve with spare parts, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, and a clean Delaware title.
The car left the factory finished in Cotswold Blue and was repainted in its current shade of white under previous ownership. The paint is faded and worn, and there are scratches, dents, and areas of prior repairs around the body. Pitting and dents are present on the chrome trim and bumpers and the black top boot is tattered. A soft top is not currently installed.
Chrome 16″ wire wheels with two-eared knockoff spinners are mounted with older 6.00-16 Firestone tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features bucket seats and individual rear seats trimmed in black upholstery. Appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a locking glove compartment, and crank windows. Wear is noted throughout the interior, and the seller describes rust in the trunk.
A four-spoke steering wheel fronts centrally-mounted Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as supplementary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 63k miles, and true mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six features dual SU carburetors as well as a replacement block. According to the selling dealer, the engine was rebuilt some time during prior ownership.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement Borg Warner four-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is present on the underside.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate lists a build date of January 12, 1959 and displays the factory colors and serial numbers.
