Sellers description:
This 1955 Jaguar XK140 Roadster is Red Metallic with a Red Interior and Black Soft Top. The car comes with a very rare aftermarket Hardtop. It is all matching numbers and is in excellent mechanical condition. The previous owner was a very knowledgeable Jaguar enthusiast and mechanic. The mechanical restoration included the following:
New SS exhaust system, Fuel system flush and cleaned out (including tank), Fuel filler door rebuilt, Carbs rebuilt, Front End rebuilt, Engine Rebuilt, Electronic Pentronix ignition system, New Tires, New brakes - master, calipers, rotors, flexible brake hoses -
Converted front drums to discs with power booster, rebuilt turn signal assembly, New clutch plate and rebuilt mechanical clutch system,
Electronic choke shut off switch etc.
Cosmetically some restoration work has been completed including a new soft top. This is a perfect opportunity for anyone in the market for a car to restore cosmetically with all of the major mechanical restoration already completed. The paint is in fair condition with some imperfections. The car is rust free. The interior is vinyl and in good condition. The brightwork is in fair condition throughout. It is a car that is cosmetically fair and mechanically excellent. It could be an excellent cosmetic restoration candidate or simply a car that can be driven and enjoyed as is.

Lot #220
Catalog description reads:
1955 Jaguar XK 140 SE Roadster Chassis No. A810829 French Title The copy presented deserves special attention. It is indeed a model with the enviable option SE. This option "Special Equipment" included the wheels son to replace metal wheels, and fog lights, dual exhaust, ... Sold new to the United States is 11 February 1955 she left Coventry bound for famous specialist Max Hoffmann. The identification card of the car confirmed that the hood was "gray France", inside red and the body was painted in Birch Grey, a very elegant dark gray slightly. Today, the car comes in a mean state but interesting. Indeed, in a forgotten corner of California for years, the body is very healthy, except for the battery tray, it is totally free of corrosion. The alignments of the doors and trunk are very good, it's a car that has not been in an accident. The upholstery was redone in red imitation, which is in bad taste but very classic United States. The carpets are also changing. The hood is new. The painting is very average, probably painted in a hurry and has to be redone, it would be best to put it back in its original color very refined. Note that the carpet in the trunk and the hood are of like the "side screen." Given the general condition of the car, it is likely that the 579 miles indicated on the dashboard are original and are in fact 100.579 miles or about 162.000 kilometers traveled, mileage is normal. The mechanical works. The radiator seems recent. The exhaust was redone in stainless steel. The front discs do not wear. The harness is original and everything works. The engine block and cylinder head are the correct numbers corresponding to the chassis plate as the body.
