Car listed as sold at:

Seller's description:
Jaguar XK 140 SE DHC, year 1956. Chassis number A8190169, engine number G9144/8, gearbox number JL36262CR, Body number P5490. This is a factory original 190 bhp SE (Special Equipment) model!
Colour dark blue combined with a beige (tan) leather interior and beige wool carpet. Dark blue mohair hood (renewed in 2012) and a beige hood cover. This gorgeous Jaguar XK 140 SE DHC (Drop Head Coupé) was sold new in the USA. In the year 2000 the car was imported to the Netherlands and subsequently fully and perfectly ‘body off’ restored professionally in the period 2000 – 2004. A wonderful photo book is present in which the restoration is presented. Costs nor effort were spared to reach perfection. The sheet metal was restored from the bare metal, all the chrome was re-chromed, the interior was perfectly upholstered, and all the mechanical components were restored, overhauled and / or renewed. The original 4-speed gearbox was replaced by a Getrag 5-speed unit, and the front drum brakes were replaced by disc brakes to improve the driving experience and safety. The 12-volt system was modified to AC with the fitment of an alternator and the cooling was upgraded with the fitment of an aluminium high-capacity radiator. Since 2000 the car has known two Dutch owners who have thoroughly enjoyed and cherished this beautiful machine. The car comes with a comprehensive (service) history. The Jaguar is fitted with chrome wire wheels shod with Vredestein 185HR-16 Sprint Classic tyres, an alarm system, a MotoLita steering wheel with a wood rim and a pair of fog lamps at the front which are part of the SE package. This Jaguar XK 140 SE DHC is in an exceptionally good condition and it drives superbly!
