Seller's description:

In this auction you have the opportunity to secure a 1956 XK 140 DHC. This Jaguar with VIN A819054 is an imported vehicle and has a total of 4 owners according to the seller. The so-called matching numbers are assumed, an exact history of this XK 140 is no longer available. The XK 140 is registered with an H license plate and the most recently completed main inspection runs until July 2023.

Externally, this Jaguar XK 140 DHC is red in colour, over the years the car has been repainted after consultation with the current owner. The condition of the body is above average for the age of the XK 140, the owner refers to the accident-free condition in the current possession. All of the chrome trim on the car shines as it should and apparently no trim is missing on the body. Because this modification-free Jaguar XK 140 is a so-called Drop Head Coupé, it also has a folding roof, which in this case is black and shows no damage.

Vredestein brand tires are mounted on the original chrome spoke wheels - according to the seller, the tires are still in 70-90% of their new condition. The brakes of this Jaguar are also 70-90% of their new condition. In terms of chassis technology, obviously no defects can be found that could cloud the good overall impression of the XK 140.

In the interior of the Jaguar, the black leather seats impress with their crack-free quality and the instrument panel - which is made of wood - convinces with a problem-free function of the displays. The crank windows do their job without any problems and the steering wheel, the handbrake lever and the shift lever are also in clean condition. Overall, there are no defects in the interior of the XK 140, all materials are in good condition. The hood mechanism is fully functional - the folding hood can be opened and closed again without any problems. A tarpaulin is available.

A mileage of 4,055 kilometers can be read from the speedometer on the 5-digit speedometer on the beautiful instrument landscape of this Jaguar. All gauges and controls inside the XK 140 work perfectly.

The XK 140 is powered by a 3.4 liter in-line six-cylinder twin camshaft engine with 190 hp. The last service work took place in 2021, according to the seller, there are no known defects in the drive train.

The underbody of this Jaguar is rust-free and sealed with cavity protection - inconsistencies on the underside of the XK 140 cannot be discovered.

A Jaguar XK 140 represents the legendary further development of the sporty XK 120. A powerful six-cylinder, a shapely silhouette and the stylish interior are a few aspects of this XK 140 DHC offered here, which on top of that offers pure British roadster fun for high demands.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
