This car was supplied to Ian Appleyard, the famous Jaguar rally driver who originally rallied NUB 120. He and his wife/co-driver Pat drove RUB 120 in the 1953 Alpine Trial, achieving a class win. Later in 1953 the car was fitted with a DHC body modified with rear seats to satisfy the entry requirements for the Norwegian Viking Rally, although Ian and Pat Appleyard in the end chose to enter a Jaguar MkVII. Following a successful rally career with the Appleyards the car was sold and rallied by Denis Scott. It was eventually broken up, although the body may survive

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
