    Car now offered at:

    www.woldsideclassics.co.uk/jaguar-xk-120-se-ots-rhd-in-louth-6213439

    Sellers description:

    Mileage 40,837

    Fuel Type: Petrol

    Doors: 2

    Engine Size: 3.4

    £155,000

According to the accompanying Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate present within the cars history file, this car was manufactured as a SE (Special Equipment) model in 1953 and first registered in Scotland in 1954. The certificate also shows the matching engine numbers are of the higher performance and that the car retains its original black coachwork although the original grey trim has been replaced with the striking red you see on the car.

Subject to a 5 year plus restoration, completed in 2009, by the previous owner of almost 40 years, this car can only be described as stunning and of the highest standard. The black paintwork gleams and is a perfect combination with the contrasting top quality red upholstery. The panel fit is tight and uniform and all chromework is either new or has been re chromed to a super standard. The wire wheels, standard on the SE, are fitted with quality Vredestein radial tyres and are all in an as new condition.

The car has some beneficial upgrades to make it a super tourer - Coopercraft front discs with 4 pot calipers are fitted for safety, the suspension has an upgraded anti roll car at the front and the rear shock absorbers have been changed from the lever arm type to telescopic units. Under the bonnet, an alternator has been fitted as has a Kenlowe fan and the cooling system is further enhanced with the addition of Evans waterless coolant. A bespoke stainless steel 6 branch exhaust system with twin tail pipes has also been added.

Underneath, it is easy to see the standard of care taken during the restoration of this car - everything looks new! The chassis was removed from the body and carefully blasted and treated, all suspension and drivetrain components have been fully restored and there is not a spot of rust anywhere due to the underbody treatment applied.

On the road the car behaves impeccably. The engine runs perfectly and pulls strong through the 4 speed manual gearbox, the steering is dead straight ahead and although heavy works well, the brakes are strong and the car handles well with not the slightest of suspension noise.

All in all, being a rare SE model in RHD immediately makes this a collectors dream. Also being in this condition immediately makes it an investors dream. Thankfully though, this car has been used sparingly since the restoration and that's what it was re built to this standard for.

Also with the car are numerous restoration invoices from top quality suppliers, a perfect soft top with side blinds and a tonneau cover. Available for viewing in our showroom now, we invite any inspection.

    Car now offered at:

    Seller's description:

    1954 Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster

    £149,995

We are delighted to welcome back this sensational RHD, UK matching numbers Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster. This top-class example was supplied by us to the last owner and sold on arrival, and has to be one of the most impressive XK120’s we have ever supplied. The XK spent almost 40 years with one owner who in the later years of ownership between 2004 and 2009 fully rebuilt the car with no expense spared. The long term owner continued to spend money keeping the car at a show standard level and after selling the car after almost 40 years, in 2017 the Jaguar participated at the highly regarded Octane London City Concours Event where it was put proudly on display. The XK was also at this point registered with the FIVA ahead of potential European events.

HHS 104 was manufactured on the 27th May 1953, finished from the factory with Black paintwork and distributed by Ritchies of Glasgow. The XK was supplied new by WM Bell & Co, Darnley Garage in Glasgow to its first owners, J Woodrow & Sons in Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire. Not only is the car still with its original engine, but it also remains in its original colour and retains its original registration mark HHS 104. Having spent its early life in Scotland, by the late 1970's the Jaguar had made its way South to Chichester, West Sussex where it then spent most of its life.

A huge file of invoices are on file totalling tens of thousands of pounds throughout the 2000's. Not only has the body been exceptionally well restored, the paint finish gleams with a show standard finish. The bodywork is quite simply exceptional, as is the chassis and general presentation of the underside having been stripped bare with the body off, blasted and treated. Chrome work is exceptional with original brightwork re-chromed by Derby Plating, painted wire wheels have been fitted to the car with top quality tyres and all new excellent weather equipment to include hood, side screens and tonneau have been fitted. The upholstery has been superbly re-trimmed in high quality Red leather and several years on since rebuild we can confirm it presents beautifully. The engine bay is magnificent with its shining exhaust manifolds setting the tone for what is a first-class car throughout.

Mechanically this XK120 is subline and outstanding on the road. The engine has only covered 4000 faultless miles since rebuild and the XK has been subtly upgraded to enhance reliability and performance. HHS 104 has Coopercraft front brake discs and four pot calipers, the suspension has been upgraded with front anti-roll bar and lever arm telescopic rear shock absorbers have been fitted. The XK also boasts an alternator, Kenlowe fan and a bespoke stainless steel six branch manifold exhaust system. As result of this high quality restoration, the car is incredible to drive, the engine is fabulous with excellent oil pressure and impressive performance, the four speed gearbox a delight to use and the XK feels tight on the road with excellent handling and enhanced braking and road holding.

HHS 104 is a car ready for the Continent and is capable of long-distance touring. The car is just sensational to drive, but equally impressive is the way in which it presents, and this is exactly why this XK120 could proudly be on display at one of the UKs top, prestigious ‘Concours' events. With matching numbers and its UK provenance, this is a an incredibly special car and one for the discerning buyer.
