Car to be at auction 4/13
www.barons-auctions.com/details.php
Auction description:
Lot No: 129
Manufacturer Jaguar Cars
Model XK120 DHC
First Registered 1954
Registration No OXV 453
Engine No FZ838-8S
Chassis No S667233
MOT New
Colour White
The example offered here is one of those superb DHC versions, which has been comprehensively and sympathetically restored on the vendors behalf, by Old School Engineering in Wales. The instruction was to restore the car to original specification with no modern upgrades and to factory specification. The restoration was carried out during 2011/2012 but the vendor now finds that he just does not have the time to use the car and has decided to pass it on to someone who will enjoy it. There is one concession to modern motoring by way of a period style radio with FM and iPod connectivity.
Finished in white with superb red leather interior, the car is not over restored and retains the period look. It comes with a JDHT Heritage Certificate and is offered in ready to enjoy condition.
The car now has 12 months MoT despite it not being required. The vendor felt more comfortable offering the car with a new certificate.
Note reduced estimate.
Guide Price: £57500 to £62000

Ascot Racecourse May 21st 2022
1954 Jaguar XK120 SE Drophead Coupé
Lot Number 177
Registration OXV 453
Chassis Number S667233
Engine Number F2838-85
Odometer reading 76,843 miles
Estimate £78,000 - £85,000
This superb iconic British sports car is presented in cream with red leather interior and as far as we are aware is a matching numbers example, with the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate confirming its DNA including the fact that it still retains its original colour from factory (details in history file). Its black mohair hood is in good condition as is its lovely leather interior and also the colour coded cream wire wheels. In 2014 the present owner had a Short Engine rebuild which was carried out by WinSpeed Motorsport Ltd at a cost of £14,000 (itemised invoice in the history file). This very pretty Jaguar comes with some old log books, various old MoT test certificates and a Jaguar Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook. A wonderful example in good condition!
