1952 Jaguar XK 120 Roadster offered by SignificantCars. com

This very nicely restored example is in excellent condition in every respect having been the subject of a high quality restoration. The car runs very, very well and is ready for long distance touring, but should really go collect a bunch of trophies first.

Finished in a nice color combination and featuring the proper spats this XK 120 Roadster will provide years of driving and touring enjoyment to the lucky new owner. The car starts right up runs smoothly, shifts well stops well and is ready for the road. The car is accompanied by a nice set of factory tools and books, side curtains, and tonneau cover.

I am a JCNA judge and in my opinion this car could be a contender for a national level JCNA award with minimal effort.

Price: $145,000 negotiable

Lot 62

1952 Jaguar XK120 SE OTS

CHASSIS NO: S672902

• Sought-after 'Special Equipment' model

• Quality example of a most desirable and sporting roadster

• Straight body work with exceptional panel fit

• Excellent paintwork and proper chrome trim throughout

• Correct tan leather interior with canvas soft top

3.4-litre inline six-cylinder DOHC engine, 160 HP, four-speed manual gearbox, independent front suspension with transverse wishbones, elongated torsion bars and anti-roll bars, live rear axle with semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes; wheelbase: 102”

In true roadster style, this lovely red 1952 XK120 has a correct tan leather interior and a black canvas roadster top, both in very good condition. The carpets, door panels, and upholstery show only minimal wear and highlight the excellent care this car has received. It’s a true classic roadster interior, with side curtains, no exterior door handles, and a lovely dash with the Smiths gauges in fine order. The door and panel fit are excellent, highlighted by those long swoopy fenders, and the entire car has a fine paint finish and top-quality chrome trim. Drop the top and, with those full rear wheel spats, it’s visually one of the sleekest vehicles available anywhere in 1952; with it, Jaguar literally forced every other sports car manufacturer back to their respective drawing boards or get left behind.

Pop the bonnet and examine this XK120 OTS closely, and you’ll see a car that was professionally restored and has been carefully used and maintained since. This particular example left the factory with the 'Special Equipment' feature as evidenced by the 'S' prefix on the engine number and solidifies its performance pedigree. The engine bay is clean and well-serviced, without any leaks or flaws, and the underside is proper as well. The car runs wonderfully, idles smoothly, and handles like few others. There’s really nothing for the new owner to do here but turn the key, drop the clutch, and enjoy the performance of one of the era’s premier sports cars.

Obviously very well-restored in every respect, and presented today in pleasing condition throughout, this wonderful Special Equipment OTS includes a tonneau cover, jack and lug wrench, car cover, tool roll, side curtains with storage pouch, and a service manual. An excellent and highly drivable example of a sporting legend, this XK120 Roadster simply begs to be driven and enjoyed as originally intended – with the top down and your foot on the floor.

*Well-maintained restoration, prime for touring enjoyment

This striking XK120 OTS (open two-seat) roadster was treated to a high-level restoration in the early 2000s and has since been carefully enjoyed and maintained in fine condition. The accompanying Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate shows this car features the optional high-performance "Special Equipment" package. Unusually, it is optioned with color-matched steel disc wheels and rear fender spats, enhancing the sleek lines and imparting a clean, streamlined look compared to the more common wire wheels. The minimalist cockpit is trimmed in biscuit tan leather, with factory correct details and a lightly broken-in character. Carpets, door cards, and the fascia are trimmed in original style patterns and materials. Beneath the bonnet sits the legendary 'XK' DOHC inline-six, which is tidy and authentically detailed, with a road-ready appeal. It is noted that the engine block is a replacement standard-specification unit.

With broad event eligibility and superlative performance, it would be hard to pass up this lovely XK120 as your pick for rallies, tours, and club events.
