Classified ad asking $98,500, seller oakcitymotorsnc, 41k miles. Note; it is believed this car is actually 674015 for this entry.
Sellers description:
very nice Jaguar XK 120 M. We just got this car in and figured we would put it up for sale for a few days before we go through and recondition it, knock the cob webs off, and ask a full retail price or send it to auction. The car has been sitting a couple years and has old fuel in it. It fires right up though and shifts though all the gears just fine. It has a Wildwood disc brake conversion up front. The car stops very well as this seems to be a newer kit. It also has a 5 speed gearbox.. The wire wheels and tires were purchased about 2 years ago right before the previous owner passed. They are in like new condition. The car appears to have been restored within the last 10 years. The Paint is in very good shape and the body is very straight and rust free. A heritage certificate has been applied for and will be included with the sale of the car once it comes in. I also plan on putting this car through the shop this week and changing all the fluids, installing new Optima batteries and getting it running 100 percent. Once this process starts the car will come off the market until it is complete and we will find another avenue to sell it. The Optimas have already been ordered so they will be included with the car. It comes with 2 tonnaeu covers, one white one black, and has a white top (all are in great shape). This car is as clean as it gets for one that has been sitting untouched for a couple years. The numbers off the data plate are as follows
Chassis S671015 (making it a "M" or "SE" Model)
Body F6103
Engine W8710-8S
Gear Box JH7024

This 1953 Jaguar XK120 SE Roadster was completed on May 28, 1953 and distributed in the US through Max Hoffman Motors of New York City. It reportedly underwent a refurbishment prior to its acquisition by the seller approximately four years ago, and power is supplied by a replacement 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Finished in red with a beige soft top over matching leather upholstery, the car is equipped with Wilwood front disc brakes, Lucas driving lamps, Coco floor mats, and polished 16” knock-off wire wheels. The interior was refreshed during current ownership, and work in the last year and a half is said to have included a tune-up, fluid changes, and rebuilt carburetors. This XK120 is being offered with a tool kit, a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, removable side curtains, and Connecticut registration in the seller’s name.
Factory finished in Dove Grey, the body was repainted its current shade of red some time ago. A replacement beige soft top was added during current ownership, and matching side curtains are included in the sale. Additional features include a dual-outlet exhaust, Lucas driving lamps, and front and rear bumperettes.
Polished 16” wire wheels are secured with two-eared knock-off spinners and wrapped in Michelin tires. Braking is handled by Wilwood front discs with rear drums.
The cabin was reportedly refreshed by Bassett’s Jaguar of Wyoming, Rhode Island during current ownership and features beige leather seats with replacement frames along with matching carpets. Amenities include a padded central armrest, a passenger-side grab handle, dash-mounted rearview mirror, and map pockets in both doors.
The four-spoke steering wheel is a smaller-diameter replacement unit and sits ahead of a central cluster housing Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows just over 44k miles, around 2,500 of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown, and the removed steering wheel is included in the sale.
The replacement 3.4L inline-six was reportedly sourced from an XK140 and features dual SU carburetors that are said to have been recently rebuilt. The seller also notes a recent oil change and tune up. The underside of the hood has been signed by mechanic Roger Barr of Chasing Classic Cars fame.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec five-speed manual transmission.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate lists the original completion date, chassis number, and colors.
