Cylinder Head: F1631-8S
3.4L Inline-Six

Private Party or Dealer: Private Party

This 1954 Jaguar XK120 is a disassembled project which includes a 3.4L XK inline-six with numbers-matching cylinder head, 4-speed manual gearbox, trim pieces, and a number of other small parts. The seller acquired the car in pieces approximately 20 years ago, and it is said to have been raced prior to his ownership. The body has been separated from the frame and is currently finished in grey primer, though damage and rust remain present as described below. Many parts are included, including two aluminum hoods, new sheetmetal, and other parts from Welsh Jaguar and XK Unlimited including a wiring harness, gasket sets, and more. This XK120 project is sold with a clean North Carolina title in the seller's name.

The seller notes that rust is present on the existing bodywork, and that the turn signals had been removed from the car prior to his ownership. Dents are noted in the front fenders and rust is pictured in the lower areas of the rear bodywork and rear fender mounts. Two aluminum hoods are included, one of which has a grille and is not primed.

A set of red painted wire wheels with knockoff hubs is included in the sale.

A partial collection of interior components includes a pair of black upholstered seats, gauges and door pulls along with other small hardware and trim.

The 3.4L XK inline-six is disassembled and separated from the 4-speed manual gearbox. The cylinder head shows serial number #F1631-8S, and the transmission shows #JL20634, both of which correspond to the included body tag.

The upper control arms are still affixed to the steel ladder chassis.

Numerous small parts include knock-off hubs, hub carriers, brake components, trim pieces, top bows, and more.

The body tag is riveted in place and shows the numbers for the body, chassis, engine and gearbox.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
