    Ebay item 1/5/12
    cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1954-Jaguar-XK120SE-Special-Equipment-Roadster-/27088730 ...
Opening bid $50,000 reservenot met, no bids yet 9 days left in auction, buy it now price $64,000.

    Sellers description:
Here is a rare chance to purchase a very original '54 XK120 Special Equipment Roadster at an affordable price.

History: Documented ownership and maintenance history back to the mid '60s. Records available upon request.

    Build Date: May 24th, 1954
    Chasis: S675646
    Engine: F 3181-8S
    Body: F 7924
    Gearbox: OSL 1297 B

Body: Very straight body panels with good gaps. One repaint in the late '60s that still looks good. Chrome and trim pieces are in good drivers condition and free from pitting. No rust or signs of previous damage.

Mechanicals: Special Equipment car as confirmed by the Heritage Certificate. All major components are matching numbers. One documented engine rebuild in the late '60s. The car idles well and has great throttle response and smooth power. Just spent ~$5k on installing a new stainless gas tank, new fuel pump, complete tune up, fluid flush, new batteries (two 6 volt batteries), etc.

Electrical: Updated with correct cloth wire.

Brakes: Just replaced several wheel cylinders and brake lines. Car brakes evenly but still needs bled properly to make a firmer pedel. The car does have an aftermarket dual reservoir master cylinder.

Interior: Mostly original interior. Still retains the original black leather seats with white piping. I have new seat leathers (black leather with black piping) but have not installed them because I prefer the patina of the original seats. New tan convertible top and new tan side curtains/hardware. All guages work with the exception of the speedometer.

Chasis: Rust free with no apparent damage repair.

Summary: This car is an excellent car for the enthusiast looking for an original car that can be driven and maintained. This is NOT a concours restored car....just a well documented and maintained classic. The car is available for inspection in Laguna Beach, California.

Current bid $12,100, no reserve, 9 bids 6 days left in auction. This may be a scam, beware. Said to be in Gazelle, California.

Previous auction ended at $62.500 and was ended early by the seller.

Current bid $9,900, no reserve, 15 bids 6 days left in auction.

Previous auction history shows no bids, however as obvious there were 9 bids reported on 3/30. It was said "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available". Some kind of game is being played with this seller.

    Car now offered at:
    hymanltd.com/vehicles/5406-1954-jaguar-xk120-roadster/
Car now said to be in St. Louis, Missouri.

    Sellers description:
This 1954 XK120 OTS roadster is a beautiful example of Coventry's ground breaking sports car. Beautiful red paint is accented by a very pretty black leather interior. It has been comprehensively restored to a high standard, with just a fewtasteful upgrades made along the way. The paint work is very attractive with deep gloss and good panel gaps. Chrome trim and body fittings are in excellent order. A set of 16" chrome wire wheels and blackwall radial tires add a further touch of flash to the exterior, complementing the gorgeous red paint. Inside, black leather and black carpets are in very nice order all around. During the restoration, the original vinyl covered dash was updated to a beautifully finished wood panel, in the style of the XK120 fixed head coupe. Capping off the dash is with a matching wood rimmed Moto-Lita steering wheel. Besides the classic good looks, the Moto-Lita wheel has a slightly smaller diameter than the original, which allows for a bit more leg room and driver comfort as well as a sharpened steering feel at speed.

Under the hood, the XK engine is very well detailed, with all-important matching numbers on the head and block, and it has been upgraded to an aluminum radiator. The clean and tidy theme continues on the undercarriage, with everything looking great and well detailed. While it may not be concours correct throughout, it is still a car that would show very well at an all-British event, Jaguar Club event or local show. This is a car that has been restored to drive, and would make a fantastic choice for rallies and events. Thanks to that glorious inline-six up front and its well sorted nature, it will surely deliver plenty of pleasurable miles in the future.
