Ebay item 7/9/10
Sellers description:
1954 Jaguar XK120 Roadster
Excellent condition - Immaculate sheet metal
- Original color Red with Black interior. Interior is original.
- Has been run periodically to keep motor in operating condition.
- Not a matching engine car, original was blown and scrapped in mid 70s. at that time a XK150 engine & transmission was installed. Carburetors were just rebuilt. Original transmission is still along side car and will be sold with it.
- Another f- series XK120 engine was also purchased. Which was finally rebuilt in 2004 and never installed. The engine was purchased to get the car as close to original as possible by installing another 120 f- series engine. Original engine was f-3441-8s, replacement rebuilt motor is f-1331-8s.
- 120 rebuilt engine had .20 over pistons put in. The head exhaust was opened up to 1 7/8 to give it the "C" type head performance. Stellite seats where used to make it a lead free engine. New guides, valves, cam bearings, springs, timing chains etc. The engine was rebuilt to show quality & painted. Cost of engine rebuild was $8000+.
- Brakes are all XK150 front and rear. Converted from drum to disc brakes which is a desirable up grade.
- Has a brand new falcon exhaust on it.
- Very straight car does not appear to of been wrecked at any time in its life.
- Minimal rust, very good car for restoration or can be put together with easily as a driver. Right front fender is dented and left side of bonnet has a slight kink that can be easily straightened.
- Original tool bag and some tools are included.
