This 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE roadster underwent a refurbishment between 2003 and 2005 and was acquired by the seller in 2010. Finished in red over black leather upholstery, the car is powered by a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Features include dual SU carburetors, chrome bumperettes, and body-color knock-off wire wheels. The car has won several awards from local Jaguar club events and JCNA events. This XK120 is being offered with a soft top, records from the refurbishment, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
Said to have been originally finished in red and previously painted white, the body was removed from the frame and underwent dent removal along with rust repairs on the driver-side sill, rear bulkhead, shut pillar, and both inner rear fenders prior to a repaint in red in 2003. Exterior features include a chrome windshield frame, bumperettes, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes that a hole in the included black soft top was repaired in preparation for the sale.
Body-color wire wheels are secured by two-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with whitewall tires. A matching spare is found in the trunk. Braking is through drums at all four corners. The suspension was overhauled during the refurbishment and features rear leaf springs with leather gaiters.
The cabin houses seats trimmed in black leather with matching door panels and carpets protected by rubber floor mats. Lap belts are fitted for both occupants, and features include a padded central armrest, passenger-side grab handle, dash-mounted rear-view mirror, and map pockets in both doors.
A four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation that includes a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer with an inset clock, and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 28k miles, around 2k of which have been added during current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was rebuilt during the refurbishment. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A grease gun is mounted in the engine bay.
The frame was powder coated during the refurbishment, along with records from the refurbishment. The seller notes that a stainless-steel exhaust system has been installed.
