Car on ebay 10/25/21

www.ebay.com/itm/304197879181

Classified ad price: GBP 25,000 seller andybrown1960, Stockport, United Kingdom.

Seller's description:

1953 Jaguar XK 120 DHC SE Restoration Project

LHD US import all taxes paid and UK registered

Being the SE model it was delivered from the factory with wire wheels.

Car is in need of full restoration but the body appears to be well above average.

The door gaps are still good and the doors only have a small amount of play in them, the wood frames also appear to be good.

The engine and gearbox are missing although I have a MK2 3.8 engine of unknown condition available by separate negotiation.

The other main items which are missing are the hood frame and side windows along with the window frames and mechanisms although I do have one winder mechanism which requires a small repair.

I bought the car around 12 months ago and I was planning to start to restore it later this year but unfortunately due to health problems, I have reluctantly decided to let the car go.

I looked at a number of XK 120 project cars before buying this and at the time this one was by far the last corroded.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
