www.ebay.com/itm/1953-Jaguar-XK-Coupe/264521326653
Current bid: $5,100 reserve not met 2 bids buy it now price $39,500 seller final1bid, 65k miles.
Seller's description:
ALL numbers matching including chassis, body, gearbox, engine block & cylinder head. This is in driver condition although some of the lights & other electrical not working. MECHANICALLY RESTORED: as described below. This car is very solid with only minor signs of rust. The chassis & floor pans are excellent. I believe the original color can be seen here and there; especially on the firewall. The seat bottoms & one door panel also appear to be original. The grille is in show condition. The mileage is showing 65720 but the speedometer cable is intermittent so I am not sure what the actual mileage is. The interior wood needs to be completely refinished and/or replaced. The dual temp & oil pressure gauge was rebuilt. The oil pressure is at max upon start up and drops to 35 lbs at 700 rpm when fully warmed up. The pressure is 50-60 lbs at higher RPM's. All work performed to date should be considered excellent and worthy of finishing the car to show standards.
This is in driver condition although some of the lights & other miscellaneous electrical accessories are not working. MECHANICALLY RESTORED: cylinder head was totally rebuilt w/ new valves, guides, springs, & hardened seats. The engine was fitted with new pistons, bearings, seals, & ignition to as new standards. Working electric choke, new porcelain on original exhaust manifolds & complete coolant system rebuild. The gearbox was disassembled, cleaned & fit with a new clutch assembly & all bearings & seals were replaced as necessary. The rear end, gas tank, & fuel lines were serviced. The brakes & front suspension were rebuilt to like new standards including new shocks & powder coated suspension. This car is very solid with some new sheetmetal including: lower front fender panels, front sills ahead of door posts, rear trunk seal ledge & passenger metal floor pan. Doors fit reasonably well as does the bonnet and deck lid but the deck lid has some lower end body filler. Exhaust is marginal
