Ebay item 6/23/14
www.ebay.com/itm/251567378424
Car has a buy it now price of $70,000 for 6 days. 76k miles.
Sellers description:
1953 XK-120 FHC - Frame off restoration. This car is in great condition. The body work and paint were done approx.. 15 years ago but the car has been garage kept since and only driven on sunny days. The car looks as good underneath as it does on top. Only issue is on the corner of the drivers door where the paint is starting to bubble. The interior has completely new upholstery and all the wood has been refinished. The steering wheel was reconditioned, as well. All gauges work perfectly fine. Mechanically the car is in like new condition. All new brakes; steering gear was reconditioned and suspension parts replaced. Has all new chrome wire wheels and knock offs and are mated to new hubs so there is no sloppiness when driving. Gearbox was also reconditioned. Engine and carbs (including starting carb) were rebuilt and the car runs extremely well. I have driven it above 100 mph and it is smooth as glass and has more power to offer.
I have a heater core that appears in working condition that is not installed (I only drive in good weather so heat was not an issue). The washer jar is broken but is available at the Jaguar parts store (I have not had the need to use the washers so I didn't bother replacing).
This was my fathers project but he died unexpectedly. I took the car and completed the mechanical rebuild to make this a truly reliable driver and have enjoyed every minute in it. But now it is time for someone with the time to take it out on a more regular basis.

Traded in on a special-order 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk at Palma-Roads Motors in Paris, Illinois

I have original copies of two invoices for this Jaguar from 1956.
One invoice shows it traded in on a new, 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk, as referenced by 8E45E in the previous comment.
The other invoice was where it was sold at retail to a local Paris business, Stewart Hog Ring Company.
I will snail-mail color photocopies of both invoices for $10 ($5 each) to anyone in the United States who wants to contact me through my e-mail address. Please put Jaguar Invoices as the subject.
Bob Palma, son of Palma-Rhoads Motors' co-owner.

This car was recently referenced in the 2019 June issue of Classic Car (Hemmings). The story (page 34) explains the FHC was part of a trade in 1956 for a new Studebaker. Nice to see the S681077 is still going strong.

Steve Walls: That particular 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk which this Jaguar was traded in for was featured on the cover and in the August, 2006 issue of Hemmings Classic Car. www.hemmings.com/blog/article/1956-studebaker-golden-hawk/
So both cars, the Jaguar and the Studebaker are still going strong!!
