This 1953 Jaguar XK120 Fixed Head Coupe left the factory equipped with the Special Equipment package and finished in Lavender Grey over a tan leather interior. The seller's father purchased the car in 1965 and drove it for two years before parking it in the family's garage, where it has resided since. The original 3.4-liter inline-six was replaced with a unit from a donor XK140 prior to the owner's acquisition, which comes paired with a 4-speed gearbox. The car was pushed out of the garage in July of this year, and a basic service was performed to get the engine running. This XK120 project is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate, 1967 license plates, and a clean Maryland title.

The car was repainted in white prior to the family's ownership, though the original Lavender Grey finish can be seen on the inside of the bonnet and rear deck lid. Corrosion is visible around the body, most notably around the front turn signals and rear lower fenders. The side doors are reported to close and latch, though the sills are rusted out and have been covered with aluminum sheet.

Special Equipment cars left the factory fitted with wire wheels, which precluded fitment of the rear spats seen on other models. The braking system on this example is inoperable according to the seller.

The interior has not been touched since 1967 and retains a wood dash, door caps, and window surrounds as well as older tan leather upholstery and carpet.

A replacement 3.4-liter inline-six from an XK140 was installed before the seller's father took ownership in 1965. The carburetors were cleaned and a replacement SU fuel pump was installed during the recent service, and the fluids and spark plugs were changed. No fuel tank is currently installed, though a new reproduction unit is included in the sale along with a new support bracket and sending unit.

The car rolls easily, but needs brakes and tires.

Other notes: I am including some parts my dad accumulated through the years:
1) An xk120 turnsignal assembly and button, since the car currently has a later model turnsignal assembly.
2) Driving lights
3) Spats and solid wheels, should you want to swap the wire wheels.
4) New gas tank, brace, and sender.

History:
I am selling this car on behalf of my father. The car has not been on the road since 1967. According to my mom, there wasn't anything wrong with the car-- they simply ran out of space.

My father's mechanic since the 1950s is still alive (!), but doesn't recall the car's service history in the 1960s. I do not know the mileage.

While it's a bit sentimental, I think it's important to note that my father was a life-long XK120 owner. His first car was a XK120, which he bought using funds from mowing yards and other odd jobs. He drove a 120 across the country in 1963 with two friends (imagine the cramped quarters!). He was proud of this 120 and considered it part of the family, taking pictures of it with my mom and dog, Caledonia.

I'm presenting the car as a garage find, and haven't cleaned the exterior or interior. What you see is what you get. I did remove the bolted aluminum beautifying panels that covered the sills, only to show the car was not rusted beneath, as this can be a costly repair.

My family is really hoping this Jaguar goes to a good home, as it's been with ours for over five decades.

I am quite sceptical if this for real or a fraud. could you confirm that you have sold the car to a buyer in Spain/Europe? The pictures they offer are same with the once you have posed here and the price is sensational low....

Since my XK has been stolen (xkdata.com/cars/detail/) I am looking for a new project and your XK has just the condition to met my requirments. in case you haven't sold your fathers XK by now, i woudl be quite interested.
