An ID Plate which appears to come from this car is now offered on e-Bay for £2,500. Can anyone confirm this car still exists ??

The initial indications are that this is an original plate. Whilst the car remains in Australia there is a very strong chance that this plate is from the legendry Stickleys treasure trove at Kenilworth. They were the Jaguar Scrap metal dealers but recycled very little stuff from jaguar they had probably worked out much of it was worth more that 3pence a pound! This is were 7/8 of E1A was located.
Some entusiats from the Harrogate area purchased the entire jaguar contents from the yard circa 1990 just the usual stuff - D type motor new XK150 bumpers prototype parts the list is endless but what they did have was boxes of Jaguar ID plates most had some minor stamping error ie number upside down or on its side etc. I purchased 2 D type plates amongst others from these boxes when we lived in the UK.
Whovever paid 2500pds no we don't want a duplicate S800044 the original is alive and well in Tasmania Australia

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
