None of these numbers match this chassis which would have been built in 1954 Nov
Some serious mis-reading here. Once again a Jaguar Heritage Certificate would explain all

The numbers quoted here on XK Data as at 28 Apr 11 are from the ID plate photographed on the eBay ad for sale of this car current at the same time. The ID plate is not the original, and the body and gearbox numbers are for an XK150 DHC. The engine is also not that fitted to S810302 when it left the factory. There is also a photo of the chassis number S810302 stamping which appears to be original. No explanation is offered in the eBay ad.

Car returns to ebay 5/10/11
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JAGUAR-XK-140-/330562900165
Opening bid $10,000 reserve not met, no bids yet 9 days left in auction.
Description same as above except "All documentation in proper order" was added. Based on Peter and John's vast knowledge its probably safe to assume this is a non matching numbers car.
Previous auction ended at $60,100 reserve not met after 36 bids.
