Car was at RM auction 1/07
http://www.rmauctions.com/AuctionResultsSearch.cfm?SortBy=YS&View=Normal&Category=All&From=&To=&Make=jaguar&Model=&LotNum=&Sold=All&AuctionYear=All#
The example offered here finished in red with a tan leather interior was treated to a complete nut and bolt concours quality restoration. The exterior, engine bay and interior all show a careful consideration to detail and craftsmanship. As part of a major collection, the Roadster has been stored in a controlled museum environment and has never been shown at competition. Described by the vendor as “unbelievable”, this XK 140MC promises its prospective buyer all of the positive aspects of Jaguar ownership, including admission to one of the most active and exciting enthusiast clubs, the JCNA.

1955 Jaguar XK140MC Roadster Chassis Number: S810416 Engine Number: G1461-8S Body Number: F10424 Gearbox Number: OSL 2556B Beautifully restored example! The XK140MC offered upgraded performance with a C-type head which produced 210 horsepower, wire wheels, foglights, twin tailpipe exhaust and awesome drivability. This particular car was completely restored in the mid 1980’s. The car was shown at 20+ Concours d’Elegances and Jaguar events and never lost (1st in Class in every show!). Even though this restoration was completed 20 year ago, it still looks like it was finished this year!

19 - 26 May 2021
Chassis No. S 810416

Believed to be one of 3,350 XK 140 Roadsters built from 1954-1957
Beautifully restored example finished in red over tan
Numerous drivability upgrades for reliable touring including a five-speed gearbox
Accompanied by Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate
This 1955 Jaguar XK 140 offered here left the factory as an SE example, or “M” for modified as they were referred to in the United States. It left the factory originally finished in Cream over Black with a French Grey convertible top. It was dispatched on 15 December 1954 and was distributed through Hoffman in New York, New York. The car’s first owner was a J.C. Wieland. It should be noted that the JDHT certificate on file notes that the car was not fitted with a C-Type cylinder head when new.
Fully restored today, and said to have once been part of the legendary Blackhawk Collection, it is presented here in a gorgeous red over biscuit leather livery. It is fitted with the dual exhaust, wire wheels, fog lamps, and windshield washers. Drivability upgrades includes a five-speed transmission conversion, disc front brakes conversion, an alternator with a generator look, a new gear reduction starter, and an aluminum radiator with an auxiliary electric fan. The original transmission, radiator, and front hubs remain with the car, making a return to factory spec a simple matter should the new owner so desire.
This stunning XK 140 has been enjoyed on two pleasure rallies of approximately 1,000 miles each, most recently in the fall of 2017, underlining the car’s reliability and performance. The car was serviced specifically for spirited touring and enhanced reliability, with service receipts included in the history file. Also included with the sale is a new tonneau cover. Beautifully presented to a very high level, it will make an ideal partner for future long distance rallies or simply cruising in style.
