Ebay item 2/3/12 cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1955-Jaguar-XK-140-OTS-Open-Two-Seater-MC-Heritage-Certi ...
Current bid $31,100 reserve pricenot met, 6 bids 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1955 Jaguar XK 140 Open Two Seater MC for sale. Beautiful, high quality driver finished in it's original colors; British Racing Green over Suede Green with stately Gunmetal canvas soft-top, matching side-screens and full tonneau cover. Car boasts it's original motor which was rebuilt along with the transmission and rear-end in late 2003 and have only driven 5,300 miles since. (Front-end was rebuilt 985 miles ago in 2008). The only item that has not been rebuilt or is not new is the Rack steering box. This is a matching number engine with "C" head and rare sand-cast carburetors. The paint and interior are beautifully done, a DVD comes with the car showing the process. Cosmetic restoration looks absolutely beautiful. This is a car that you will feel right at home on road rally's and win accolades at local shows. It is a frame-on restored car that you don't have to be afraid to enjoy yet is right at home in the most exclusive surroundings. The enthusiast who enjoys having something just a touch different than your peers will appreciate that this particular example was first sold in France resulting in some of the details not being the same as cars delivered to England/USA. An example is that the driving light switch is not incorporated into the headlight switch but is a separate switch to the "left" of the steering wheel. It still has it's original kilometer speedometer/odometer. Includes tonneau, boot and side curtians.
This is a lovely, long-term owned car with just one known restoration that has been fastidiously cared for. She looks forward to a future with an equally dedicated enthusiast.
