Sellers description:
Jaguar XK140 OTS
Chassis Number: S812510
Year of Manufacture: 1956
Engine: 3.442 cc DOHC straight six
Exterior Colour: Opalescent Silver Grey
Interior Colour: Red
Mileage: approx. 7.000 km since restoration
• Fully restored, matching numbers example
• More powerful SE-version with C-Type cylinder head
• Attractive and glamorous colour combination
• Very low mileage since full rebuild
The car we offer is an original SE model with the rare and desirable C-Type cylinder head, wire wheels, and dual exhaust system, all fitted at the Brown's Lane Works. The car was sold new in the United states and from there was repatriated to Italy in the 1990's, where it was restored by Italian craftsmen to a very high standard. As part of the restoration, all the mechanicals, including the engine, as well as the bodywork, were fully rebuilt to original specification. The only concession to originality is the Kenlowe cooling fan, the rest of the car is absolutely period correct.
After the rebuild, the car was used sparingly, accumulating approximately 7000 kms in little over 10 years. Today the car is still in an absolutely beautiful condition. The combination of the Opalescent Silver Grey paintwork with the red leather simply looks stunning and fresh, with a very nice patina adding just the right amount of character to the car. The engine is one of the smoothest XK engines we've come across, giving a silky power delivery with the typical "Cat Snarl"exhaust noise that the XK's were famous for. With many XK's nowadays being modified and repainted in traditional colours, this example really stands out of the crowd and truly takes you back to the glamourous and elegance of 1950's Hollywood.
