Ebay item 10/7/13
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK-XK140-MC-Special-Equipment-1957-jaguar-xk-140-mc-ots- ...
Car has a buy it now price of $115,000 for 20 days.
Sellers description:
This is a XK140 which has the rare optional "MC" Performance Package. The optional MC or "Special Equipment" (SE) package came with the "C-Type" competition cylinder head and dual 2-inch SU H8 carburetors which then produces 210 bhp at 5750 rpm from this 3.4 liter inline six power plant. Further upgrades for the MC cars included wire wheels, dual exhaust, a high-speed crankshaft damper, windscreen washer jets, and adjustable fog lamps. (Fog lamps not currently installed, but owner has a set.) This MC package is also noted on the vehicle's heritage certificate from Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust, (JDHT) as a "Special Equipment" model. The numbers on the original identification plate under the hood also verifies this vehicle came with the MC option. According to the Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust certificate, the vehicle was built in July, 1956 and then was dispatched on August, 3rd 1956 to the California area.
This 1957 XK140MC OTS (Open Two Sweater) roadster is finished in beautiful Old English White and features a professionally installed Red leather interior. The softtop is finished in black canvas. It is fitted with a glass rear window w/ zipper. We are unsure when the vehicle was restored and by who. The odometer shows 2,904 miles. We are assuming the odometer was reset to zero when the restoration was done. The original mileage is unknown. The over all condition of this vehicle is very good to excellent. It shows some patina since it was restored. We did not have the vehicle cleaned or detailed before the photos to give the buyer a true representation of the vehicle's condition. That being said, It wouldn't take that much to take this vehicle to the next level. The car is extremely complete with all the correct components throughout the interior, engine compartment, trunk compartment and exterior body panels.
The trunk compartment is fitted with a wire wheel spare tire, jack, knock-off spinner hammer and tool kit. The matching black canvas side curtains are also stored inside the trunk. The optional MC package wire wheels are in good condition which have Firestone 6.00-16 tires mounted on them. The brake drums are painted red which is correct for XK140s equipped with wire wheels. The undercarriage is clean but not show detailed. It is solid and it was once restored with the correct colors and items. It wouldn't take that long to go back over the underside and freshen it up again.
