Auction 2016 Schloss Dyck
Lot Number 130
Reg. Number UK Registered
Chassis Number S812855
Year 1957
Make Jaguar
Model XK140
This Special Equipment XK140, fitted with the desirable C-Type cylinder head is presented in the beautiful combination of Slate grey over red leather interior. Over the past few years, # S812855 has been subject to extensive work and the new slate grey paintwork and red leather interior trim are difficult to realistically fault. The car is also supplied with a new roof, and tonneau cover, and benefits from new bright work all round and a new set of wire wheels.
Furthermore the engine has been overhauled by a renowned marque specialist, right down to the rings, bearings and springs, while new pistons, filter and clutch have also been fitted. The gearbox on the other hand was in good order and as a result only required a refurbish, - a good omen for how the car has been treated in the past.
Additional work carried out on the cars mechanics includes; rebuilt carburettors, overhauled dynamo, new petrol pump, all suspension joints replaced, wishbone rubber repaired, brake cylinders repaired, master cylinder rebuilt, shoes / drums overhauled, new stainless steel exhaust system fitted with new hanging kit and gaskets, petrol tank flushed tested, painted and new hoses fitted, new wiring loom, tyres, tonneau and chrome wire wheels.

The Zoute Sale
•Desirable 'Special Equipment' example
•Matching chassis and engine
•Sensibly upgraded with a 5-speed gearbox
Produced in October 1956, this left-hand drive XK140 Open Two-Seater SE Roadster was delivered new to Jaguar Cars, New York, USA. Its original colour scheme was 'Pastel Blue' with red interior trim and a black hood. The XK has been comprehensively restored and sensibly upgraded with a five-speed gearbox for relaxed cruising. We've been advised that the professional restoration was carried out to a very good standard paying attention to originality and detail.
Elegant and pure (with the deletion of the mirrors on the front wings) in an attractive colour combination, this XK140 Roadster with the desirable C-Type head is eligible for many prestigious events.
Described by the vendor as in very good condition and said to perform very well, this matching-numbers 'Special Equipment' XK140 is offered with Netherlands registration papers, invoices for work carried out and Jaguar Heritage Certificate confirming its build details
