This 1957 Jaguar XK140 MC roadster is a left-hand-drive example that is said to have been purchased by the seller’s uncle in the 1970s and was acquired by the seller in 2016. The car is finished in cream over red vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes dual SU carburetors, 16″ wire wheels, a split windshield, chrome bumpers, a Nardi steering wheel, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. This XK140 is offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Cream. Details include a two-piece windshield, chrome bumpers, and dual fender-mounted side mirrors. Peeling paint is noted on the decklid, and chips, cracks, and other blemishes are shown in the gallery. The windshield wipers are missing.
The 16″ wire wheels feature two-eared knockoffs and are mounted with 185-series Firestone Cavallino Sport 200 tires. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drum brakes.
The seats were reupholstered in red vinyl under previous ownership. Appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, map pockets, and a plaque affixed to the dash commemorating Jaguar’s record-breaking top-speed run. Wear is visible on the seats and dashboard.
The wood-rimmed Nardi steering wheel sits ahead of Smiths instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep tachometer, and supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 91k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 3.4-liter DOHC inline-six features dual SU carburetors and sends power to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. The battery and spark plugs are said to have been replaced in preparation for the sale. The seller states the overdrive unit is inoperative.
Corrosion is visible on underbody components.
The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows the factory colors and identification numbers along with a completion date of December 12, 1956.
