Opening bid $38,500 reserve not met, no bids yet, 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1956 Jaguar XK140 MC Fixed Head Coupe. This classic Jag is equipped with the special, must desired “C-Type” cylinder head that enables the massive inline 6 to produce a strong 210hp. The XK coupe is a beautiful representation of the curves that were unique to that era of automotive design. This example is wearing a new coat of Olde English White paint that has been expertly applied at our restoration facility. The paint is a much creamier white than what the photos show. The interior is the factory correct red and is in excellent condition. In the early 70’s this car was freshened, driven, and then relinquished to storage in the late 1970’s, right after the owner at the time came out from a Christmas party in Dallas and found both sides of the car keyed all the way down. We acquired it last year after it was stored for more than 20 years and began a light restoration. Our freshening included re-chroming all of the bright work (at a cost of $7k), new paint, all new weatherstipping, new fuel tank and lines, new radiator, we re-built the carburetors, installed a new water pump, new hoses, all the belts, and the brakes at each corner are new. The motor runs great, is extremely strong and has great oil pressure. The transmission is quiet without undue gear noises but the synchros could use some attention. You can drive the car as is or we can offer a re-build of the gearbox for to the new owner. The new tires are the same exact make and model of Pirelli’s that originally came with the car. The radio is left over from when the car was being used regularly in the 70’s. The car offers a great solid ride and handles very nicely. This Jag would be a great addition to any collection. It presents as an EXCELLENT “driver quality” motorcar that has the nicest re-chrome we have ever seen and near flawless paint. This XK will provide its new owner with endless driving entertainment and classy looks. There is no doubt it will be a lifestyle enhancement for its lucky driver.

Brighton Motorsports is pleased to present this elegant 1956 Jaguar XK140 MC Fixed Head Coupe. This classic Jag is equipped with the special, must desired “C-Type” cylinder head that enables the massive inline 6 to produce a strong 210hp. The XK coupe is a beautiful representation of the curves that were unique to that era of automotive design. The name “XK140” was derived from the cars ability to reach a top speed of 140mph – in 1956!!! This example is wearing a new coat of Olde English White paint that has been expertly applied at our paint & body shop. The seats have been re-dyed in the factory correct red and all of the carpeting is new. In the early 70’s this car was freshened, driven, and then relinquished to storage in the late 1970’s.
