I bought this car 9 years ago from what I was told the 2nd owner. It was stored, in rough shape for twenty years. I rebuilt it, stripping several layers of (original colour) white paint, with the intent of being a weekend driver and not a concours car. I was on a budget at the time and some minor liberties were taken while redoing. I did all the work, Including the interior(hardest thing I had to do!) other than sandblasting the old paint off of the wheels. It ran well after 20 years at idle. However, on the first test hop the transmission main shaft broke and destoryed the input shaft in doing so. I replaced it with a close ratio XK 140 box. Other than this and the interior and exterior colours, I believe all major parts are orginal. I replaced the tyres with Firestone bias ply original type tyres to retain the size and shape of original type. In retrospect I maybe should have went to radial tyres, somewhat wider, for ease of steering and ride comfort. It is still very fun and very fast to drive. Everything electircal works well except for the auto choke, which won't start the car in the cold, but does come on and functions once the car is running for the first couple of minutes or so. It does have the original wiring harness and I have not had to do any patch/splicing or anyother repairs to it other than add the yellow foglamp wire from the connector block to the lamps. I did change the foglamps to original type yellow Lucas fog lenses that came with my 64 MkII that I had in the 70's. I will edit this post with the rest of the car's as soon as I can and also post pictures.
