for sale on ebay:
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-XK-140-FHC-MC-/271550738955
Seller write a view interesting things about the car:
NUMBER OF OWNERS: ___4_ My father was the 3rd and purchased the car in 1970. I know the names of the second owner along with the original owner.
CLEAN TITLE? __yes__
HISTORY OF ACCIDENTS? (IF YES, DETAILS) __None__
HISTORY OF PAINT/BODYWORK? (IF YES, DETAILS) _yes___
Car was originally Black over Red. My father painted the car this silver gray color which is actually a Corvette color, but looks fantastic.
CURRENT CONDITION OF WEARABLES INCL. TIRES, BRAKES, BELTS, HOSES, SUSPENSION COMPONENTS AND FLUIDS
This is a very good driving, good looking car. The tires are old and should be replaced at some point. Some of the things that have been done "recently" in the last 10 years or so.
1. Carburetors rebuilt by Jim Taylor
2. Petronix ignition installed with new plug wires.
3. All brake cylinders and master cylinder brass sleeved by White Post Restorations.
4. All new brake lines and recent fluid flush.
My father and I worked on this car together when I was a boy, which was around 1984. This is when it received its paint job. He had purchased it in 1970 and had stripped and painted it then. It did have some rust, but very little. No metal work has ever been done and there is some filler in it. However, there are no cracks and from the pictures you can see that it has held up very well for the last 35 to 40 years. I wouldn't think it's a bondo buggy, but it had some rust in the typical areas. It's a very solid fairly original car. All of the numbers match, the wood has never been re-veneered, the headliner, and almost all of the chrome are original. I also have the original dealer installed am radio and set of 16" 54 spoke wheels that go with it. In addition to the original steering wheel, headlight bezels reverse light, front bumper, driving lights, and front number plate bracket. Additionally, I have a never installed stainless steel exhaust and all of the parts to completely rebuild the front end.
THINGS THAT ARE NOT ORIGINAL___
The car was converted to a 12v system and negative ground.
It has an old radio and speaker that work. However, the original dealer installed radio accompanies the car.
The exhaust has glass pack mufflers. I think it sounds great so I never installed the new stainless steel exhaust that accompanies the car.
The heater was disconnected and a large heater core was plumbed behind the driver's side wheel in the fender well. This was done to assist with cooling.
The interior was redone in the 70's in vinyl. The person that did the work for my father did everything in the same pattern as the originals. However, my father wanted something that wouldn't crack over time. The seats look great, but the carpets are showing their age and there is a hole behind the gearshift lever.
The wheels are C-Type 60 spoke wheels. They are original Jaguar wheels, but the outer spokes have been replaced with stainless steel spokes I got from Dayton.
Has a Mona-Lita steering wheel installed. The original has multiple cracks but comes with the car.
The head lights are replica flat glass xk120 lights.
KNOWN ISSUES__________
The flex pipe on the exhaust leaks and has a not so great patch on it.
One of the exhaust hangers is broken.
One of the knock-offs has an ear where the chrome got messed up when removing it.
The windshield chrome has two small pieces of aluminum tape where the chrome was messed up.
The carpet has a hole behind the gear lever.
It's slow to crank over but has straight 40 weight racing oil.
Leaks some oil on the ground.
Has a few stone chips and the front passenger side fender got a small dent from trying to move the car on wheel dollies.
The rear black license plate holder paint is cracking.
Tires have some dry rot and should be replaced.

This charming XK140 Fixed Head Coupe is believed to be a four-owner car from new, having reportedly resided in the ownership of one family for nearly 45 years, where it was passed down from father to son. According to the consignor, the XK140 was originally delivered in black over a red interior, and was painted in its current silver-grey by its long-term owner, probably some two decades ago. Some time ago the interior was also redone in red vinyl, while the Jaguar features an attractive set of chrome wire wheels and other features such as a Mota-Lita steering wheel and a pair of driving lights.
More recently, the carburetors have been rebuilt, while a Petronix ignition system has been installed. The brake master cylinder was sleeved with brass, this work being undertaken by White Post Restorations, and all brake lines were replaced. Additionally, the Jaguar was converted to a 12 volt electrical system for ease of operation.
Retaining its matching numbers original engine, this charming XK140 would be eligible as an interesting entry for any number of vintage rallies or shows. One of the most beautiful and charismatic sports cars of its era, this XK140 will undoubtedly turn heads at any car-guy gathering.

Sellers description:
The car shown here for sale is a highly desirable, numbers-matching, original MC-specification XK140 MC Coupe. This car has been the recipient of a recent mechanical recommisioning, having had it's cylinder head and carburetors recently rebuilt, fuel tank restored, it's Petronix ignition system replaced, brake lines replaced, and brake master cylinder re-sleeved. This XK140MC is ready to be driven and enjoyed. It is believed to have had only four owners from new, and is coming out of a 45-year long ownership by a single family, having been passed from father to son. The car remains in driver-quality cosmetic condition, having received a repaint to silver from it's original black approximately two decades ago. The interior remains in it's original shade of red, though the seats were reupholstered in red vinyl at some point in time, likely when the modern sound system was added as well. The car features a sharp looking Moto-lita steering wheel and driving lights, and an attractive set of chrome wire wheels. This is a mechanically sorted, driver quality example of the highest spec-XK140, and is ready to be enjoyed as the icon it is.
